I'm sayin Lebron was getting pieces and players even in Cleveland... Kobe was on an Island with no nikkas from 05-08 which was his absolute peak and prime...

I'm not hating on Lebron at all, he just got luckier than Kobe with regard to pieces. I mean Dwyane Wade was a top 5 player when LBJ joined the Heat and Bosh was easily top 10... 3 top 10 players on one team is pretty much unheard of in the history of team sports.

someone wanna tell this guy that Kobe was blessed enough to play with the most dominant force the sport of basketball has ever seen?

I think as a function of watching Lebron the public has become really impressed with 25/_/_, which is impressive, but understand that prime Kobe could score as many points as he wanted, WHEN HE WANTED. His game was flawless in his prime, LITERALLY! There was nothing he couldn't do on a basketball court.

He did shyt like give Charlotte 58, UTA 52, Houston 53...let me put it into more perspective.
This is all the same season BTW, in a 4 game stretch in the 06 - 07 season from 3/16 to 3/23...

Kobe scored 65, 50, 60, and 50 in consecutive games. The fukk?! That dude was a basketball God in his prime!

:wow:

Its not all about scoring though, and that's why Kobe struggled during those years post Shaq and Phil. I say that Lebron is a better player than Kobe ever was because he does everything else better.

Wait Wait Wait Wait!

I think people are forgetting that Lebron was TERRIBLE on D his first 4 or 5 years in the league and I mean AWFUL. Kobe by comparison was a BEAST on D from the time he hit the league. Don't get caught up in the 1st team all defense that you think he didn't deserve later. For the totality of their careers so far I would say that Kobe is the much better defender.

And Kobe in his prime is a better player than Lebron no question, call it stanning or whatever, but when I think of 04 - 09 Kobe...Nah I can't see it!

 Stop foolin!

Someone wanna tell you I'm talking about Kobe in his prime?

If you even watched those seasons and playoffs, you would not be underestimating Beans impact.

Who did Kobe have from 05-08 before the pau trade?

He's the best player in the league right now, I'm gonna wait for his career to finish before I start thinking about where he ranks all-time.

fair enough, but I think that's over-simplifying the situation... Kobe was hindered by the lack of talent around him in those first few post-Shaq years, but at the same time, had he been given a legitimate 2nd option earlier, his numbers wouldn't be nearly as eye-opening because he wouldn't have a green light to the same extent that he did

and older kobe was top 4 in scoring the years they went to the finals.

what makes you think a younger kobe wouldn't have still wrecked shyt? maybe not 35 PPG, but still be a scoring champ.

While I'll never deny that Kobe has a scoring talent that LeBron doesn't, it still doesn't necessarily make him better than LeBron

LBJ is pretty much as close as it gets to #1 as most well-rounded player

Let me help you out.

LeBron is 27 and in his prime now.

Durant still dropped 31 on Bron's head. You really think Bron would've done anything against Kobe when he was 27 and in his?

and if Kobe had better teammates, he wouldn't have the outrageous scoring numbers he did by being the only viable offensive option on his team; so you stans wouldn't be able to pound your chest by posting his crazy scoring numbers... then what?

if a prime Kobe and a prime Bron are both relegated to only shooting 18-20 shots a game, Bron is better in every single facet of the game

the only thing kobe is better than lebron at is outside shooting.

lebron has him in defense, rebounding, assists.

Kobe has never even come close to shooting 50% for a season. 47% isn't even achievable for him.
