That's the popular narrative however if that is possible why didn't MJ elevate Brad Sellers level of play? It's a little easier to "elevate" the level of play of a Worthy or a Kareem or a McHale or Parrish or a Pippen or a Wade wouldn't you say? You really gonna act like the abilities of the teammates had nothing to do with it? A great player can make it teammates better no doubt however a great player can only do so much on his own. He's gotta have something to elevate. You didnt' answer my question though. Would you look at Magic and Bird differently if they did the same exact things just without multiple HOFers around them and therefore less team success? Was Mike not the best until Pippen came along to be "elevated"?

James Worthy is the Jeru the Damaja of basketball

after Magic had HIV, Worthy was pretty much irrelevant.

Okay what about Kareem's HOF career before Magic? What about Scottie's MVP caliber year when Mike was retired or Grant's time in Orlando? We all know what Wade did pre Bron. :comeon:

im not understanding how lebron winning a ring with dwayne wade, chris bosh and excellent play from the roleplayers makes him jump into the top 5. If you already had him ranked near the top 5 im not talking about you. Im referring to the guys who said he wasnt top 10. I don't see how this is significant enough to make a guy jump from outside the top 10 to inside the top 5.

enlighten me

its not like Wade and Bosh were putting up their career numbers. :ld:

they were hurt and LeBron carried them.

If the Heat would have won with LeBron putting up the Finals number from last year with Wade and Bosh carrying the load then you have a point

Because according to respected sports analysts, great players that play on great teams and win rings are inherently better than great players that play on not so great teams and don't win rings.

If I beat you in a street race, it would prove I am a better driver than you. If you pointed out that I was in a race car and you were in a Dodge Colt, you'd just be hating. Relevant details have no place in these kinds of sports arguments for some reason.

He is the most physically dominant player I've seen my eyes (jordan's the best). However I cant put him all-time yet, his career ain't done. In this day and age we are so quick to want to rank players and make list and shyt, u cant do it till the career is over. What if he never wins again, what if he runs off another 6 straight?

Right now it's safe to say he's in the top 15 to ever play the game and if you think about it...it's scary that he's that good right now cause we're not even sure if dude has reached his peak....

lebron was amazing.....i just don't see how it's significant enough to jump 6 or 7 spots.

regardless of wade struggling, bosh and wade still have to be accounted for at all times and the role players were huge. lebron was dominant, but carrying them? i disagree.

game 2: wade/bosh/battier played extremely well
game 3: lebron carried them this game, nobody else played well
game 4: chalmers scored 25, norris cole gave them a quick 8. wade had 25
game 5: everybody was on fire

The best win under the right circumstances. Did you not comprehend my Jordan point? Was he not te best individual player in the NBA before he won his 1st ring?

Nope. He wasn't great until he won titles while elevating the level of Scottie and Horace's play. He didnt' feel like elevating people to championship level play until then. :mjpls:
