LOL @ "Taught" so just because most of everyone that heard the album ended up loving it they were "Taught" to love it by the media and "Machine" and not their own ears? Like I said you can feel what you want that doesn't change what the album achieved and is. The Pun exampled proves that Death don't make nothing classic, the music has to do it on it's own. It's 15 years later, just lookin at the state of rap now this album still stands as a shinning light. Of course there's people who feel the way you do. Some people think "ILLmatic" is overrated no piece of art is universally accepted as perfect. But that doesn't change the fact it's a classic. Sometimes people need to understand that personal opinions can't change what a particular piece of art achieved. Again if someone says "Thriller" is wack does that make it so? Does that erase it's impact, success, influence and awards it received? nope it's just that person not feeling it. LAD status at this point in time is cemented.
youre doing alot of talking in circles and stutter-steppin in this post.
yes, we were taught to hold the album in high-regard before it dropped. do you not remember the radio endlessly playing album cuts as if they were singles? and referring to tracks such as "going back to cali" & "nasty boy" as classics? i remember like half of the songs on primetime radio countdowns were album cuts from LAD. i witnessed no chit like that in my life.
and you keep trying to run with this pun chit. MAN DIDNT I JUST SAY that big's album wasnt overrated just because he died? so why did you just cut & paste the same bullchit that i just shot down? youre stannin right now homie. btw, arent you the same dude that tried to say that biggie had the best verse in "notorious thugs" simply because he was out of his element on some 'A for effort' type chit?
oh and YOU MADE THE WRONG MOVES
BAD COMPARISONS
illmatic is much more universally accepted as a classic than LAD. bad comparison.
as for thriller, ALOT of oldheads that actually came up listening to mike jack dont hold thriller in super-high regard the way youve been taught to hold it up. youre kinda proving my point there.
