I'm done
First of all those are names that I listed that I thought were better than Tevin Campbell. They were not in any particular order they were just names that came to mind at the time and listed them off the top of my head. Now here are the rest of my comments:
1. You clearly never heard Johnny Taylor in his prime. That nikka replaced Sam Cooke in the Soul Stirrers. Do yourself a favor and listen to some of Johnny Taylor's early stuff.
2. Reread my post and you clearly see that I mentioned Teddy Pendergrass, Barry White and Brooke Benton at the bottom of my post. I put them in the deep voice club, which is different than Tevin Campbell's basic sound. Reread my post.
3. The list provided is not meant as a ranking. It is just names of singers that I could recall off the top my head I thought were better vocally than Tevin Campbell. So Smokey Robinson is not number two on my list, but he was the second guy that I could remember while writing the post. Notice that I didn't even mention Eddie Kendricks in my initial post, which was guy that was very good.
4. Stevie would be on my list if I actually sat down and did a true ranking. I wasn't a big fan of Luther Vandross, Freddie Jackson or Brian McKnight. I kind of see them the same way that I see Tevin Campbell. They were o.k., but I would not put them among the all time greats. There are too many older singers, like Curtis Mayfield, Jerry Butler, Bobby Womack, David Ruffin, etc. and more contemporary singers like R. Kelly, that were probably better.
5. Frankie Beverly and Donnie Hathaway are listed because I thought they were better than Tevin Campbell. That is not where I would actually rank them though in any real list.
6. Put together your own list nikka.
