Still 65% non-black and integrated.
One of the biggest new artists out is from there:
NY used to be segregated but now that's changing. Because of NY being a melting pot demographically and NY controlling 45% of the media, it allows other people to exploit and infiltrate the culture who otherwise don't belong there. Think about it: Take away the media and what are you left with? Real life. So, by real life standards, how much "Hip Hop" or "Urban" or "Black culture" are you going to absorb in a 6% black environment?
How much more would Baltimore get being in closer proximity to NY and being 60% percent black? A lot more than the SFBA-- which is still true once you get that real life experience. Your taking media brainwashing to look at things one way, instead of the other way. Hip Hop culture, is larger wherever there is the real demographic that houses it, all that other stuff is huff. Take away the media and all that "urban" bay area talk wouldn't exist. The skitzophrenia is due to the media, that's why you got DJ Evny saying he's "black".
This part of the discussion was about poverty and crime. Poverty and crime isn't an issue in the SFBA. The SFBA is the richest area in the country and probably one of the thriving in the world period. Poverty, by contrast, would be the lowest there. Crime is also not an issue in the SFBA compared to everywhere else in the country. Which is why I said what I said. I've been to all those places you mentioned and they are all tame. By SFBA standards they are bad areas, but that just goes to show how rich and safe the SFBA is as a whole.
