The milky way galaxy doesn't have one sun. That thing in the middle that the rest of the stars revolve around is actually a dense collection of stars that revolve around a super massive black hole that is the result of multiple stars dying and going super nova.

Basically we are all just circling a massive galactic drain at the center of the galaxy.

What that black hole rotates around is the real mystery as scientist expect ours and the Andromeda galaxy to eventually crash into each other.
