We had an Arthur Treachers in town. (youngstown, oh) but it recently went out of business then re-opened as a privately owned Captain Treachers.
Tried it once, and it tasted exactly the same as Long John's to me. Both are trash seafood places. we gotta cajun seafood boil place that i would recommend over that anyday.

My ex wife is from Ohio and when I lived in Columbus, she brought that name up. I'm like "wtf is that?" The closest 1 to her crib was in Reynoldsburg. Seemed like damn near everybody in columbus ate Arthur Treachers or Captain D's when it came to fast food seafood spots lol

2009. I ended up getting hives on my skin after eating it. Never touched it again. LJS wasn't so bad when I used to eat it regularly but after that incident, I didn't fukk with it again.

If I'm going to eat any fast food seafood it's going to be Captain D's or a local restaurant.

I prefer Captain D’s over LJS. I don’t even know where a LJS is, but I do remember one being close by when I was living in MS as a teen. That’s the last time I had it. It wasn’t bad, but it’s not a spot I’m going to search out

It’s a real shame what that place has come to. I use to eat ljs at least once a week a few years ago for lunch. Now days I hear it’s fell off. Like food is cold, bad customer service, half cooked food. I would eat there but I don’t like the odds of getting crappy food.
