Not that this serves as adequate justice, but she just lost her professor gig at Columbia University. The Black law student association made sure of that. Overall really tough watch but ultimately necessary. Stay woke though brehs and brehettes. We don't have to go back 30 years to find injustice.
#FreeChanelLewis

The Black Law Student Association been on the administration ass about her for years it seems :salute:, but it seems like she stepped down voluntarily or more likely the school said its time to go bytch we dont need bad publicity :camby:

Salute all those young people who fought for this though :blessed:

Just saw the Oprah interview ...Antron is fukked up man

I can't lie I broke down during Antron story during the series, his actor was something else. When his mom visited him in jail and had that convo about all she does is love him :wow::wow::wow::wow: - made me think about my own relationship with my mom :wow:. You can tell she was his everything :mjcry:, shouts to Ray for being a real friend - the only time Tron smiled is when he was talking about how he lives 5 mins from Ray and they see each other often :mjcry:

Oprah must have lost some skills or just didnt give a fukk bc she did not do well when Tron was speaking his truth a few times :hubie:. That what did you do to survive inside question was uncalled for Oprah :francis:

When she asked what do they tell their own sons to do if stopped by police was a nice moment, "don't say anything until a lawyer is there and we ALL get down there"

Finally watched it. It was tough but everyone black person needs to see it. I got too many friends who are scared or saying it will be too traumatizing. fukk all that, watch it and use the emotions to wake up and get focused.

It was sad how unprepared and helpless most of the parents were. Also, Ray’s dad was hard for me to like. He was supportive with the phone calls but he wasn’t man enough to lay the law down with his new wife. Smh.

This

any law brehs can yall explain how they lost like that shyt still baffles me :mindblown:

This is one thing I’m still confused about. Obviously there’s the racist angle but now I’m prompted to do research on the case because they had to have something on the brehs for them to not only lose but have people think they did it.

Also, after reading both sides on this case I’m convinced that this won’t change white people’s minds in the least bit. At least those brothers are free now.

They got charged for the lesser crimes like assualt or being accomplices. And since they didnt lie to "prove remorse" for parole they served time until they aged out of juvie at 21 or in Korey's case who did 12 and a half of the 15 max sentence until he was exonerated by being proven innocent.

From what I gather, it was the coerced video confessions that done them in. When the jury saw them on video, the jury reacted out of emotion and didn't step back and think that none of those confessions line up.

I just got done seeing the interview with Oprah. There was a point in the interview when I felt that Oprah should have back off of Antron. You could see that some of these questions was hurting Antron to answer, and she should have gave him a break and went to someone else. But she kept asking him question after question in a row. That wasn't cool to me.

I finished this series last night. This was a on some 12 years of slave shyt on how hard of a watch it was and the anger and emotion it made me feel.

The way they did Korey was foul as fukk. Part 1 fukked me up and had me so angry I couldn't even make it to part two on Saturday night that's how mad and infuriating shyt was for me.

I watched the rest yesteday and let me tell you part 4 was straight :mjcry:

Jharrel Jerome deserves a fukking a emmy or golden globe for that role. The part where he was reminiscing how he should of stayed with his girl and then asked her for a kiss at Coney island :wow: shyt was heartbreaking. My nikka went through the pits of hell for just going to look out for his homie. Them New York cops that were apart of that case were straight fukking demons. Those cops and that Linda bytch all need to see jail time. This is definitely a one time watch as a black man shyt is an emotional experience.

Salute to those 5 brothers for staying strong though no amount of settlement money could make up for all that lost time especially for Korey. That nikka was a real run not folding and saying he was guilty and stuck to his truth.

Only Gripe of this movie is that Korey's other sister Vanity who is also transgendered tweeted how there father was in there life and there mother wasn't a single mother like the movie potrayed and emphasised. I believe his father died in 1996 of cancer. They could have put his father in the movie but I guess the single mother angle is more dramatic.

Yall should really listen to this interview. She talks about the Central Park 5 from @ 7:30

12:50 confirmed what I thought. The video confessions did them in. @ 12:50-13:50 She states that juries will believe a fake confession over scientific evidence.
