finished up the show and I'm glad they're free but just like with Life, when I see these stories of all the time lost due to racist bullshyt, always get heated and sad. The 2nd episode to me is the standout of the show. The first 2 episodes (or when the show really focuses on the crime, investigation, and the trial) are the best, when we start seeing the effects afterwards, things kinda fall flat with exception to Korey's time in jail. If this was just the episodes 1,2, & 4...it would've been even better but it's very good with the 4 eps. Great work by all the actors especially Jharrel :wow:

also whatever NY paid the 5 ain't enough

Interview is now up on Netflix, its called When They See Us Now

Sidenote: People nee to stop sleeping on episode 3, it shows how the system forces you to repeat the cycle. In terms of television, Tron and Raymond had the most compelling stories imo:hubie:. You really got to see it affect them in the real world and Tron had the most compelling moments during the trial.

I agree ep 3 shows you how you get trapped in the system even once you are released
can't get a job because no one hires felons
can't work around other felons so that halves an already small pool of openings

only choice is either be broke and homeless or go back to jail

Netflix got bigger pull than Pbs

And entertainment is easier to digest than a pbs doc.
Don't forget the way society has changed a lot too in the past years. You got Ferguson, Charlottesville shining new light on modern day racism (which so many Americans liked to pretend didn't exist), while at the same time the increase of social media awareness (and condemnent) has grown tremendously for past crimes and misgivings, fueled by but not only limited to the #MeToo movement.

Brehs this evil bytch Lederer is worse than Farnstein and I feel too many people are letting that go
Not that this serves as adequate justice, but she just lost her professor gig at Columbia University. The Black law student association made sure of that. Overall really tough watch but ultimately necessary. Stay woke though brehs and brehettes. We don't have to go back 30 years to find injustice.
