i think OP is saying what movie is he gonna be synonymous with

Stallone you automatically think Rocky
Arnold you think Terminator

I like Rock movies but i don't remember the name of his character from GI Joe

Even though he added a huge element to F&F, you don't watch F&F and think Hobbs, you think Toretto.
People forget "The Rock" is a character in & of itself

I think that’s a subjective thing. Well yeah obviously it is. But he’ll forever be identified with fast and furious especially if his spin off goes off without a hitch. We’re in a different era than the one Stallone and Arnold and Willis were in when it comes to how studios think of movies now. It’s all about franchises and exploitable IP. I could be wrong but I don’t see him having a movie like terminator or die hard or rocky. Those were long shots. Yeah now we think of them as surefire hits but Bruce Willis wasn’t the first or even third choice for John McClain, the studio didn’t want Stallone to play rocky, and terminator was a low budget independent flick that no one wanted to touch.

John wick is a rarity today and I’d love for rocky to get something like that in the future but we always have to keep in mind the way the system is now and what the demand is for said system. He may never get some shyt like that and that would be completely by design

He's mostly an action film guy. When it's not an action film it's some incredibly dumb shyt. Most action film actors can't act worth a shyt, hence why they do action films. Acting ability is fairly minor for those types of films. So probably never.
Wheres his Taken? Wheres his John Wick? Wheres his Bourne? He doesnt even have a Mission impossible.

The best parts of Fast Five he wasnt even in.

*edit for correction and true*

Also, Arnie and Stallone never won an Oscar for leading man and to my knowledge never been nominated.

Sly has been nominated twice, both for playing Rocky Balboa, 40 years apart.

But yea, this thread is super weird. The Rock is great at what he does. He doesn't need a franchise to cement his status.

I kind of agree with the OP. When I think of The Rock I just don't think of any definitive classic action movies by him like with action stars of the past. He's not a horrible actor and he's definitely a star that can't be denied but maybe since the attention span of the public is so short nowadays I can't think of a cemented movie or series that is all The Rock's and that's what's missing IMO.

2 of those guys were 50 and over when those opportunities came to them.... Rock is 45 so on that trajectory.... he still has time.

Keanu is 53 right now and Liam is 65.

If Tom Cruise can do another Mission Impossible at 55 everything will be ok for the Rock

@R=G Where are you?
