When I watch Giannis play, I dont see a 2x MVP at age 25

Last year was the lucky “fluke” season in which a lucky Heat team beat them. What’s the excuse this year? James Harden is injured, and there’s no one on Brooklyn who can actually defend Giannis. And yet, I only see 18points. There’s always an excuse for these underachieving eastern conference teams. What is the excuse for Giannis this year?

Paul Pierce was the 1st option on that squad breh

you can say he was the 2nd option but I'd argue Ray Allen was

KG was the best overall player but was not the focal point of their offense
:mjlol: Nah, there is ZERO argument for him being the third option. He led the team in scoring, field goal attempts AND 4th quarter scoring in their championship run.

He was 1a/1b with Pierce at worst. Ray was a distant third. But even Doc Rivers will tell you they were going to him before anyone else on that team. The bulk of the offense ran through him in the high post until they got to the Finals and Pierce had Luke Walton and Vladimir Radmanovic across from him.

You a Boston fan so I'm not gonna argue breh, you got it :hubie:

But he even adds to my point, as KG could anchor the defense at the 5 as well, better than pretty much any elite PF before or since :manny:

No disrespect Accolade wise he's already one of the top 50 players ever with 10+ yrs left in his career

But I dont see greatness and one of the best players to ever touch a basketball brehs. I dont want to sound like a Twitrer head but the skill just isn't there for me
Unless he seizes this series by the neck, I don’t see his ceiling being beyond the low 40’s all time. We crown these modern players too soon. We need to stop that.

PG x MD
Yeah, Dirk won one too

Now name another PF who won anything as a 1st option :unimpressed:

only ones to even win as a 2nd option are AD, Sheed, and Kevin McHale

If you have the skillset to be an All-Star at the 3 or the 5 then you may be great but a "true" PF will always be objectively worse than any other position given the same talent level.
This isn't a great take. How many sgs have won a title as the number one options? Jordan, Kobe, Wade and that's about it right? How many pgs have won a ring as the number one option? Zeke and Curry if you consider him one?

In the last 30 years Jordan, Duncan, Kobe, Shaq, Wade, LeBron, Curry, and Durant pretty much got all the rings and most of them played someone else on that list to get them.
