Canelo is Mexican though. I'm talking about American boxers

Canelo has a big fan base, but it's mostly foreigners. I think if he ever learned to speak English, he could appeal to a much wider fan base

I agree with you about wilder, if he becomes a superstar he gon get paid:whew:

from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
When did I say any of this, when you want to have a normal discussion reply back you don't even make sense breh
We cant have a conversation because you keep spinning and backpedaling.
Once again De La Hoya had the record before Mayweather, so what does that tell you
DLH and floyd broke the record, and DLH was the A side
I never back peddled for anything
:mjpls:
DLH was a bigger star than any other heavyweight besides Tyson
Of course De La Hoya isn't bigger than Ali, Ali has transcended the sport on a global scale

I never back peddled for anything
:mjlol:
De La Hoya was bigger than any of the other heavyweights who were active the same time as him not named Tyson
De La Hoya hadn't sold more than a million ppvs until 99.and was active since 92.. How was he bigger than Holyfield in that era??
The whole conversation was about how the WW didn't gets shine while the heavyweight division was poppin, then I pointed out that DLH was big during the time heavyweight fights did big PPV numbers, and he did more numbers than all the heavyweights outside of Tyson
You keep saying outside of Tyson but he wasn't bigger than Holyfield either
so I pointed out that you cannot use Ali for an exmaple because he didn't even fight in the PPV era

I don't need ppv numbers to tell your silly ass that ali was bigger than Oscar.. It should be common sense, if Ali/Frazier had over 300 million viewers worldwide, why would ppv in its current form have to exist for you to compare who was greater??
Man your a casual fan man
Just Because De La Hoya didn't break records everytime he fought doesn't mean he was getting huge pay days and do huge numbers
so stop it
Oscar didn't do anything significant as far as numbers greater than the 90s era top heavyweights until 2007, after the hw division fell off

Word.

I can't co-sign @Master Teacher straight dismissing Deontay like that. if Wilder does knock off Wlad, that really puts his name out there. The Klits are known and highly regarded worldwide, so it does alot for Wilder globally and locally if he KOs him. Not sure how big he'll be (don't think he'll be on the level of Tyson IMO), but dude has star potential.

Wlad's been KO'd multiple times, Deontay can be a star in the world of boxing and
I didn't dismiss Wilder, this nikka said he gonna be a Mike Tyson level star, which is ridiculous

But you seem to only judge boxers star level by ppv numbers, so how is it ridiculous to say Deontay cant be as big as Tyson?

You love putting words in people mouth and make zero sense every time speak

Mike Tyson was a man child phenom the youngest heavyweight champ in the history of boxing, add in the mystique, he is a pop culture icon

Deontay Wilder is 28 years old, he's knocked out every fighter he's face and he still hasn't arrived, it's not happening, he has none of the aura of superstar that tyson had either

Deontay Wilder can be a star in boxing, there plenty of stars in boxing, that should be good enough

but to say he's gonna be tyson mega star no way
