I was there for this, strangers were giving each other high fives and hugs when edge Edge won. United by hate
That's both awesome and really sad that they failed so hard in regards to him. Nothing they did could get the crowd to cheer him and they've buried an entire generation of wrestlers trying.

he's been strongly boo'd since early 06.

It's really telling that nearly 1 years later we're still getting the same old stuff w/ Cena

I watched all the time then, I remember it pretty well. It was definitely the first fued on RAW, his feud with Y2J.

He got a MONSTER pop on his Raw draft and he was still pretty well liked. Then as a poster mentioned, he threw out some lame lines (Y2cheap) and stuck with them. He dropped a lot of the edgy stuff from his rapper character and replaced it with lame putdowns like that. Add in the fact that Jericho is a long time respected vet and it was a wrap. Classic case of a babyface losing his edge and abandoning the stuff that brought him to the dance. Similar to Diesel in 1995.

That's where the famous split chants started too. high pitched "let's go Cena!" followed by low pitched "let's go jericho!"

Yeah that was me :myman: and they even teased a battle of the bands only to have fozzy bail. I assume because the crowd would have liked them better due to not liking cena rapping.

No one should even be booing him at this point. If fans want to make a statement they should change the channel or go take a crap when Cena is on.

However we are in the era where the WWE will take your signs if they dont like what you said or it doesnt fit their agenda.

Speaking of which, when the fukk is someone going to finally bring a Smarten Up Vince sign to Raw already?
