When did you realize that Dragonball Z was some udderly ridiculous garbage?

i fukk with dbz up until the buu saga. all the movies were wack though. big fight for the whole movie and then goku gets like one good punch in and the bad guy's dead 
the powering up episodes were some bullshyt too. had me staying up late as a kid hoping it's the episode where freeza gets his ass handed to him and instead i watch 20 minutes of goku charging the spirit bomb

the problem with the Buu saga was that it was like they tried to throw Dragon Ball in it too, didn't need Goten or Trunks, Gohan's non-super sayain power up or a villain that tranforms a lot. After Goku and Vegeta finished fighting they didn;t know what to do with the show.
When I realized it was promoting evolution and white supremacy.
To me this was one of their biggest crimes. I wanted Majin Vegeta to be the one to kill Buu but it just had to be Goku again.
I voted Fat Buu though, I couldn't take him seriously at all. Kid Buu was that deal tho, if someone could get the chance to re-do the series with better writers this could be the GOAT anime.
He was the best....the final heel turn for vegeta...selling out everyone around him for the pure saiyan pride...he should have been compelling enough to finish the series...shyt, I would've had him kill gohan or bulma or something

I really liked it. I even watched it over again a few months ago with no problems...except for the Buu saga. That saga really gave a bad name to the entire series.
Buu was just another Cell.
Goten and Trunks turning SSJ outta no where.
Gohan being weaker than he was as a 12/13 year old.
All the wasted opportunity with actually letting Gohan be the new Goku and letting Goku rest in peace. I swear after you saw him go SSJ2 you thought shyt was gonna get real...
then you see this dude in high school playing super hero and trying to keep his identity from Videl.
A LOT more could have been included in the time skip from the Cell Games and the start of the World Tournament that could have expanded the story and characters but also improve what the Buu Saga ultimately became. Having back to back invincible villians in Cell and Buu was lazy. And seeing Gohan go from Hero to filler after being hyped up so much was pathetic.
Its between this and Inu-Yasha for the biggest waste of potential for me.

Definitely the buu saga. Didnt they say that the nikka that made that shyt wanted to end with cell but a bunch of crazy ass fans was threatening to blow his house up or some shyt? 
He couldve just had vegeta be the villain of that saga and it wouldve been good. the GAWD returning and finally getting his revenge. As soon as they got back to the tournament and that nikka blew up half the stadium i was like

Yeah the storyline was wack as hell but hey, the fights and suspense were just too amazing 
If you don't take the whole Buu saga seriously, you enjoy yourself. There were a lot of funny moments in there like when he got diarrhea because he had eaten too many people 
Gotenks as a character was pretty entertaining too.

DBZ was just a popular anime series that pales in comparison to a lot much better mangas and animes that proceeded it.

If you look at Transformers G1 without nostalgia goggles on you'll see it's mostly garbage with a few good things tossed in.

True dat. I don't know why some peeps here has their panties in a bunch. Almost everyone said they enjoyed the show at some point. They're acting like DBZ was the holy grail of animation.
