Ben was atleast a Division 1A guy this Wentz guy didnt even play a full season this past season in the sub-division if Im not mistaken and went #2 overall

NDSU can easily win the MAC, the MAC is a glorified FCS Conference plus NDSU did beat a couple Power 5 schools. To answer the question though, I think the hype began in 2014, it was small hype but hype. It really got big after the Montana game (which NDSU lost).

What is this thread saying then?

well you could've read the first line of the OP

"I'm not saying just b/c he went to a non-D1 school he's no good"

I'm not saying every non D1 QB is a bum....I'm just discussing his qualifications. Every case is different.

Toledo didn't win the Mac and they beat Arkansas, Iowa state, and temple last year

McNair was also in the running for Heisman at little bitty ole Alcorn (think about that)

ESPN came to itty bitty Mississippi back when there was no social media and huge platform that they have now..

McNair and Flacco coming outta those schools are not the same folk....

I just don't understand (but I don't know how folks like to pretend) this guy went second and ole boy from OSU (who beat bama) went after him later in the draft LOL

All black QBs in college are better at the position than whites..and I can't understand why these black QBs don't put pressure on this racist ass league

I dunno about that breh.

MAC teams have alot of talent. Akron played OU pretty tough, Bowling Green played Tenn tough, and one of them beat Arky. Alot of their players are transfers from Ohio St, Penn St etc who got in trouble, or lack of playing time etc. But it's arguable that if they were in the MAC they wouldn't be as good b/c they wouldnt dominate as much as they do.

NDSU is more of a talent hub b/c they win so much at their level.

It's impossible to say really, wouldn't surprise me if he was a bum, very average, or very good. He's got the measurables you'd want, it's on the Eagles to develop him

There's already a track record for non D1 QBs to succeed, the talent and measurables are there
