The rap game/life has an obsession with gangsterism and vicariously living through mob archetypes. Drake is the biggest guy in the rap game so it's not surprising he's taken on this mold. Everyone is fascinated by the mobster life in some ways, it's just when you're in rap it's a very watered down variation of it due to the players, risk, money and beef.
