most people dont want change as much as we think they do.

Most people are comfortable how things are now and are comfortable enough with the idea that their kin will go through the same thing.

Sad but true.
change isn't always positive

cause it can lead to this

this movement lost it's appeal for a number of reasons. 1 black men failing in taking an charge in what goes on in their hood. 2 black woman failing to show support for black man. 3 black artist failing to uphold a value system that make black music, art, film, and literature a threat to white supremacy 4 black politicians refusing to leads us out of the plantation. 5 the black church inability to heal our sick spirts. 6 black teachers refusing to teach us a relevant curriculum. 7 black social workers turning blind to the abuses that prevails in our black household. 8 black buppies refusing to invest in the hood. 8 black folks refusing to support cultural events.

It lasted 16-20 years though.....Roughly from 84 to about 04.....
Pills and other drugs became more marketable around 1997. The rave era hit white people, the script game started blowing up, which in turn led to the new heroin wave...The most popular Stim is meth, and that never hit black folks. They're trying with molly.
Lean = Boy.
molly = Meth...
We'll see what happens in 5 years...
OH, and gentrification has a hidden issue: A great deal of those young middle class white folks moving in are nursing dope habits. They ain't just moving to the city for real estate.

It lasted past 2000 :francis:

When I was in HS, you had people my age doing football numbers selling that, to get quick $ and to impress thots.

You are always gonna have people doing crack, heroin, coke, etc :manny:

But the crack era was over the mid-late 90s

Dressing in Costume didnt protect people from Gangs, Police Brutality, and we were still broke, which is why Shiny Suit/Champagne rap took off because people saw the material things, and rocking Cross Colors and rapping about Egypt and Allah was not getting you a benz.

I cant believe the change happened so fast..like, so fast you may have missed it..

The problem now is these dudes have been negative for so long none of them has the courage or know-how to even make a Black nationalist track..

man, i literally remember KRS1 and REDMAN and ANGIE had a video on BET called "a friend" and that was the last i saw of that era. it was all downhill from there.

but it literally seems like it happened overnight, almost like the grunge era. that glam rock shyt was dead.
the difference is that glam rock dudes have said they're glad that era was done, it needed to die
they KILLED black nationalism in our music, it FELT orchestrated if that makes sense
