For the major sellers/traffickers, those harsh ass drug laws go the 90s made them reconsider whether they wanted to go away for life over some damn rocks.
For the smokers, it never went anywhere. Other drugs with less outrageous stigma came along and stole crack’s thunder. And once meth/heroin and the pill crisis made it to middle America and Billy/Sarah got immersed into to, CACs got a taste of what the crack explosion looked like.

I was convinced as a kid you smoke that shyt once you’d be an instant crackhead for life. Just seeing them around the neighborhood, plus having a couple friends that lived in a crack house and walking in that bytch was enough to scare me straight lol
