I live on IMDB...quite honestly I don't trust review sites...if it looks interesting I'll go...this site believe it or not has persuaded me to go to quite a few movies.

I'm the type of person who reads the comment boxes for better opinions rather than the actual article. There's always an agenda.

I glance at all of them, but I don't use them as a guide at all before I go see a movie. I might read some if the rating and my own differ by a lot.

Truth be told, there's a lot of bullshyt in the IMDB ratings, you got trolls intentionally rating movies a 1 and fanboys counteracting it by giving it a ten. Hell i remember way back when The Dark Knight Was released, they downvoted Godfather 1 and gave TDK 10's to get it higher on the top 250 list.

I don't really seek out a movie review, but I do go on a site that links to a ton of articles about pop culture and the like, so they might link me to a review for the big movies. Or i'll be on a site like this and read "avengers 92% on rt". There's also been times where no rating could detir me from seeing a movie. Die Hard 5 got like 20 percent on RT and I still watched it cause i love the first 4. Same with The Avengers, was seeing that no matter what.

No doubt (and there's other issues, such as curving for a Black movie), which is why I only use them to help decide if I should watch a movie. I don't believe I've ever been mad I turned on a movie rated 8.5 or higher. I don't use it to say movie A rated at 9.2 is better than movie B rated at 8.6.

Ranking movies is a wasted effort anyways, imo. Some movies are just silly to compare. They're about two vastly different things, have two vastly different moods, serving two vastly different purposes.... there's no point going through the exercise of trying to crown one over the other. Ultimately, who cares?

I prefer to tier movies... to seperate the cream of the crop.
