i been using imdb since dialup, seems to be the most consistent and less extreme than rottentomatoes. i just started using metacritic recently so i cant really speak on that one yet.

I stan rotten tomatoes!!

Because of that site I haven't picked a bad movie in about 7 years.

Seriously their reviews for me are on point!!!

If a rating is between 50% and 60% you watch at your own discretion.

It's my claim to fame and my friends always get mad because I'm the only one who picks good movies :manny:

They know what I use but sometimes they wanna watch bad movies but just know you'll hear about it from me

Straight up, none anymore. I normally won't read a review until after I see a movie at this point and that's maybe within the past 2 years. I'd normally hit up IGN or Cinemablend or Screenrant just to read reviews as opposed to reading a site that aggregates them and I still have reviewers I like because they have a similar view of film that I do but at this point, I just watch what I want and go in blind to what critics are saying about it for the most part.:yeshrug:

Nah breh. Stopped doing that a while ago. Like if I REALLY want to see the movie, no review is going to stop me for real. I already made my mind up I want to see it. Sin City 2 could be trash or could be dope but from what I've seen trailer wise so far, I'm down so at this point, I don't care what anyone else has to say. If it's a flick I'm on the fence about, I may or may not see it but that depends on time. I just read them when I'm done. I haven't gone to see a movie in the theater in the past few years that I regretted paying for or thought was bad. Something like Transformers, I know what I'm getting into when I buy a ticket so I don't count that. I've seen more bad stuff on Netflix recently than I have in theaters

i agree on some fronts, especially with the sin city 2 example...i'll see that without checking on anything but if im just sitting around my house with a bunch of movies trying to figure out what to watch i'll check the scores and pick on based on that & my mood

Yeah I'm with you. But on the other hand, there's something to be said about going into a movie blind and just letting it happen. I think there's a medium to be found with it and I may be too far on the other end of it but I'm cool with that. Little Giants has a terrible RT score but if it's on, I'm going to watch it

I feel metacritic is more extreme than Rotten Tomatoes. I also 100% agree that IMDB is easily the most consistent & dependable. If a movie I'm interested in is being shytted on by Rotten Tomatoes but it gets a score between 6.0-6.9 on IMDB, I find the score on IMDB usually is correct.

I'm a big proponent of reading reviews after watching a film. I never read reviews before movies because I like going in blind and being surprised and coming to my own interpretation or thoughts independently. I just want to know the most basic, barebones premise for a film.

That said I usually always read rogerebert.com for their review on a film, then after that the AV Club, Badass Digest and I usually always read Wesley Morris's reviews on grantland.

I do look at Rotten Tomatoes though every week around Thursday or Friday to see what's coming out.

I would have to say RT. Im a subscriber to whattheflick and watch pretty much all of their reviews. Editor and chief of RT Matt Achity is frequently up there. Matt and Ben Mechowitz are usually on point.
