I think that it's a pretty weak criticism all things considered, but it is areality with a lot of albums. Paid In Full for example will forever be a classic album, but the beats on there sound very basic and bland compared to what we are used to now. So based on that I guess you could argue that it 'aged horribly' and thus a younger cat wouldn't be able to put it on and vibe with it and wouldn't be able to see what is classic about it. Even albums that came out in the 2000s could suffer from being too heavily influenced by the sound that was popular at the time, but sounds wack as hell years later.
I agree fam, as one poster said above tho a true classic transcends time pretty much and can get play in any era of time and still sound fresh from the production to the lyrics the only thing might be the mastering on the project, that's why there's the remastered versions tho
