There is a such thing when you realize that you need more than a religious trait to make something a religion.
Atheism doesn't assert anything.
Its the lack of belief. Thats literally it. It only gets ascrbied as being something because theists think you're asserting something more than you are.
Its like this:
If you say you went to the store today, I can say, " I don't believe you"
I'm NOT saying that you didn't go to the store. I'm just saying that I don't believe you went to the store.
If you can provide evidence of you going to the store, like a receipt or a shopping bag, i'll be more inclined to believe you.
You heard me....what?
These cats writing the new book of Proverbs!
How about the REAL answer for how the universe "came to be" and say "I dont know."I get what you're saying with this analogy, but I think you're making it too simplistic.
I think most atheists say that they have no belief system\ideology simply because belief systems\ideologies directly correlates with religion in most cases....
Yall really shouldn't be offended like that..
I see it like this. You can say that you don't believe in GOD and that's fine. But what would you say if I proposed the question on how the universe\nature came to be?
The first 6-8 sentences that comes out of your mouth is going to be what you believe, your belief system or ideology that is the main driving force for your intellectual stance against a higher power...
You should have a rationale to defend your position. It would be intellectually irresponsible not to...
To simply say that the lack of evidence for intelligent design\higher power is a weak stance to take.......imo
Slang on some
How about the REAL answer for how the universe "came to be" and say "I dont know."
Because we dont have an answer to something doesnt give you free reign to throw all sorts of easter bunnies and fairies into the gap. You are teetering on a "god of the gaps" argument and argument from ignorance fallacy. Not to mention, asserting you baseless god doesnt answer the question, only begs more questions. Its no answer at all. Even worse you have nothing that supports your answer. Plus you pose the question in a bias manner.
What do you mean by "came to be"
Yes I do find it difficult to understand because I am a materialist.Do you find it difficult in understanding that the convincing mechanism of your mind is God, the part that gives the go ahead to proceed with a decision?
The thought process to verify a belief within your own mind requires a speaker, a listener and a responder, which one do you think you are?

No, I'd say "I don't know".
We have strong evidence that the universe was in a small, extremely hot and dense state 13.7 billion years ago and has since then expanded and cooled. But we don't know how physics/nature works in conditions that extreme so there's no way to say how that state came to be.
It seems like religious people have a hard time accepting that there are some questions we can't currently answer. But just because a question can't be answered doesn't prove anything about a god. This is the same thing many people who lived hundreds of years ago said about disease...bacteria and viruses hadn't been discovered yet so when someone got sick it was often just attributed to "god". But luckily not everybody was happy with that answer and the actual causes were eventually found.
You have no point. What you fail to understand is that not everyone feels the need to make up answers to things they dont know. Thats a difference between religion/belief (whatever you want to call it) and reality. I dont have to have a stance on "how the universe came to be" in order to call bullshyt on your collection of myths.
I'm not even looking for an answer to the question. You missed the point and went on a religion sucks rant......
NM....Its the Higher Learning show......Guess I should have expected this...
And point out the bias in the question
