  • Hamburgers and Cheeseburgers (@BlackPearl The Empress  )
  • BBQ ribs
  • Buffalo Chicken wings
  • BBQ chicken with collard greens and mac-n-cheeses
  • Fried chicken
  • Pancakes
  • That thing y'all call yams that are not really yams (compared to what the rest of the world call yams, at least)
  • Shrimp & Grits
  • Americanized Pizza and Lasagna

I don't know about all that crap, but African American cuisine also includes:

All the rice dishes in America, including Jambalaya, Hoppin John, Gumbo, etc.
Greens, Black Eyed Peas, Okra, Sesame and a lot of vegetable and fish based dishes
Lots of stews and soups
Basically Southern cooking is pretty much African American food

There is a bunch of other stuff too, but that is all that I can think of off the top of my head

When i responded i was naming american foods, period. Not just African-American foods. I dont really know which group of americans introduced what to the other. :yeshrug:
I didnt name a lof of southern foods i like (like Low country broil and Gumbo) because i find that you only find those in the South or certain places only.

You talmbout candied yams? :wow:

My girls aunt makes us a soul food dinner every Sunday, and makes a pot. Got that brown cinnamon and sugar, tasting just like some candy.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Highly highly highly underrated cuisine right here.

Get you some Senegalese Thieboudienne or some good Dibi or some bomb ass Thiebou yapp...:wow:

I only didn’t add it on my list cause I never tried but the food looks good and I heard their cuisine is actually healthy.

Luckily my new job is right next to a Senegalese spot

:ehh:

Yep, in my humble southern opinion nothing rivals well seasoned soul food, it's way too varied:ehh:

Soul Food
Cuban
Brazilian
Thai
Indian

I don't think I've ever had any good jerk because I don't get the hype, so I'm leaving out Jamaican :francis:

Dibi is like Haitian goat tasso but with lamb and it's grilled, not fried. Check it out

Thieboudienne is like Haitian légume but with seafood and the rice is very different. Even if you don't love legume you may still love it

Thiebou Yapp is almost same as Theiboudienne but with lamb/goat instead of seafood
