Both.

Portishead's whole catalog falls under this category. They aren't rappers but their music has a huge hip hop influence.
Dummy is one of my favorite albums. :wow:

Gorgeous Children ( dark is an understatement, it's borderline demonic )
DMX's 2nd is pretty dark too
