To be 100% honest it was by choice. I loved my iPhone5.
I've never been the type to always upgrade my phone every year or two. By not upgrading every year that's an extra $8k~ I got lying around right now from just that.
Call, text and mobile hotspot all I really use a phone for. Anything else and I'll prefer a tablet, laptop or desktop.
