Even though I haven't owned a 3D TV since 2017, I still own all my 3D Blu-ray movies. If you have kids and/or want to show the absolute best 3D effects, movies by NWave Studios are worth owning. Sammy's Adventures and The House of Magic are reference quality 3D animation. Nothing by Pixar or Dreamworks touches it when it comes to 3D.I’m gonna start a collection for 3d blurays.. those are harder to come by in good quality online

There is no secret sauce to 3D with the Vision Pro or any other VR headset. I've ripped many of my 3D Blu-rays and have watched them in VR. The big advantage is that Apple has some 4K content in 3D, where as people are comparing it to their memory of shytty 3D theaters or 1080p 3D Blu-ray content on TVs using active shutter glasses. If Hisense or LG released a 4K TV today with passive polarized 3D capabilities, folks would have similar reactions to watching 3D Blu-ray on it, as they do with the Vision Pro. A TV by LG or Hisense would even have some advantages over the AVP like higher refresh rate and so forth. I'd like to hope interest in 3D is renewed, but with the Vision Pro's battery not being big enough to last through many entire movies, so I won't keep my hopes up.I was listening to the Engadget podcast a couple of weeks ago and one of the hosts was talking about his review for the Apple Vision Pro. He mentioned that he watched Avatar 2 3D in them and it was the best 3D effects he has experienced for movies. That was pretty much the only thing that really blew him away
I do hope that 3D comes back because watching a movie that uses 3D for Depth of Field is next level.
apple is petty, too. the european release is region locked when that is usually not the case for 4k.‘Killers of the Flower Moon' Not Getting Physical Media Release — World of Reel
While it’s yet to be officially confirmed by Apple, there’s now a lot of speculation leading towards Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” not being made available on Blu-Ray or DVD in the U.S.www.worldofreel.com
Criterion gonna do it. They’ve done several Marty joints.‘Killers of the Flower Moon' Not Getting Physical Media Release — World of Reel
