Grabbed Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Steelbook Edition

Sidenote: Who remembers when the studios had you buying different store versions just to collect them, Transformers (BestBuy. Walmart, Target editions) :damn:
I would always chose one. When the superhero movies dropped, and it was a film I wanted, I bought Target editions. I like the digibooks (when they used to release them).

I double dipped way later if I saw something I liked on OfferUp.

I remember buying the Dark Knight broken cowl edition. It was nice at 1st, then it bothered me how much room it took up on media rack lol, ended up selling it and keeping the discs.

Funny you brought this up because I think this was the first time I noticed the exclusives. I remember I was trying to decide what to get: Best Buy’s SB or the Target digibook. I ended up buying the SB at the time and finding the digi a few years ago on OfferUp.

Best Buy unloaded the clip for their (possible) last “Black Friday” sale. Picked up 15 titles (hopefully that’s it). I still haven’t upgraded to 4k, but I grabbed some titles since they were cheap. I would have likely spent more if I did.

Still gotta pick up a few Criterion’s next week too.

Now that my kids are getting older I'm starting to buy R-rated movies again. Went to purchase a copy of Blacula on Blu-ray and the cheapest copy was $80 on ebay. I've decided to make a list of 50-100 movies I absolutely want to own physically and scoop them up before prices get out of hand. Once Target, Walmart, and Bestbuy completely eliminate their Movie sections, I think its a wrap for physical media and what's left in the market will rise in price significantly.
