:comeon: why are yall worried?

Obama is going to do just that in these next debates. He did the same thing to Clinton

I'm not really worried but dude needs to seriously grow an pair. And what good will an second term do if he's only going to compromise with Republicans. If he's this timid against an empty suit like Romney do you trust him to not completely cave to Republicans just to get anything accomplished. They know he's weak and that's why they keep trying him.

Romney basically got up there and said he wouldn't cut education, wouldn't cut Dodd/Frank & agree with regulations, wouldn't give tax breaks to corporations or the 1-3%, wouldn't cut defense, wouldn't raise taxes on the middle class, wouldn't cut medicare/medicade, said he cares about middle class/poor. He became a democrat tonight but it doesn't matter about facts.

ITS ABOUT PERCEPTION!!!. Romney even though he lied...he won the debate hands down.

Now Obama is going to come aggressive and use that against him in the next debates

i'm really enjoying the meltdowns on msnbc...and the plea copping here

I remember how confident so many posters here were that Obama was going to whoop Romney in the debate

Imagine if Obama had to debate Chris Christie...yikes

Honestly Obama got lucky he debated an intellectual beta male lightweight in McCain last time

Obama looked completely shook brehs....

Maybe shook isn't a good work. He looked like he didn't give a shyt. Prevent defense don't win football games and it don't win debates.

It was Romney's "confidence" and aggressiveness that won tonight, not his intellectual prowess. He deflected, answered each question with as little detail as possible, and spewed easily verifiable lies/contradictions.

In a real debate when a moderator asks you "What do you plan to replace medicare with?" "a lengthy plan" (that he never goes into detail about) is not a feasible answer. Presidential debates are popularity contests...not real debates. :youngsabo:

After considering the debate, Romney won on style -overly aggressive attack mode- but he made a number of concessions to Obama which is going to haunt him in the next few weeks. He agreed to most of Obama Care, He agreed with Obama on taxes for the rich and he even agreed to parts of financial regulations. I expect the race to tighten, but this initial post debate bump will dissipate once fact checkers begin looking at what Romney actually said. With that said, Obama has to come out more aggressive in the next debate.

Ok, the next Debate is Vice Presidental which is next Thursday. But Here's the schedule for when Barack and Mitt meet in again in 2 weeks:

Topic: Town meeting format including foreign and domestic policy
Air Time: 10/16/12 9-10:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time
Location: Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York (Tickets)
Sponsor: Commission on Presidential Debates
Participants: President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney
Moderator: Candy Crowley (CNN Chief Political Correspondent)

The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which citizens will ask questions of the candidates on foreign and domestic issues. Candidates each will have two minutes to respond, and an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate a discussion. The town meeting participants will be undecided voters selected by the Gallup Organization.
