Let's be real, Obama can bomb all his debates and not lose. Unless he starts the debate, taking an American Flag, setting it on fire, to light a blunt and starting with the 1st Surah in the Quran, while talking in Jive to Jeremiah Wright on a cell phone. Obama isn't losing. He always starts off weak and finishes strong. He's letting Romney get his swag up then he'll destroy him with his own words. Dude will be fine.

Who would've thought after 4 years in the White House that Obama would look less Presidential than when he came in. In the debate dude looked shook half the time and the rest disinterested. I can see him mailing it in the rest of the debates. Maybe he knows America is f^cked and would rather just lose the election.

if anything he played it too presidential acting too cool and sticking to facts while Romney was just being aggressive and all over the place with his plans. it theater Romney won though, but that was pretty much due to the style of the debate and the moderator

It's really impossible for obama to lose, romney has already lost the elections. All the debates would do is give republicans something to feel good about.

Romney won based on perception damn near became a democrat in the debate. Agreed w/ Obama a number of times and as a result said he would either continue Obama's policies (picking and choosing Dodd/Frank regulations to repeal, his "plans" adding on to Obama's framework, etc.) Gave himself a little more time and make this closer than it needed to be.

The problem w/ Obama was not only his demeanor (Romney staring a hole into him while spewing BS was crucial yet dishonest) was that Obama didn't call him out on his flip flopping. 47%, ER remarks, similarities between Obamacare and RomneyCare, his concessions of some of Obama's policies, his misinterpretation of the 716B "cuts" in Medicare, 12 million job plan, etc. Obama had previous ammo as well as stuff he could've used from Romney's mouth and didn't capitalize enough. Romney has four years of evidence on Obama and successfully made him look incompetent while promoting himself and his "path" for America. Compare Obama rightfully getting at Romney for his chameleon policies and campaign to Romney's repeated shots about failed green jobs taking priority over other types of jobs. Whose attacks resonated more? Judging by the media and people even in this very thread the answer's clear.

If this election cycle was the NBA Mitt forced an OT after being down 10.

EDIT: To all those claiming Obama's playing chess, he got it wrapped up, Romney is terrible......We said the same thing about Kerry in 2004. Don't take the American voters for granted. Remember that.

He acted like his advisers make all the decisions for him and he doesn't know WTF is going on. If you can't call out Romney on his blatant lies and distortions you don't deserve to get re-elected. Anyone who remotely follows current events could poke holes in most of what Romney was saying. Yet the President of the United States for an entire term has to constantly look down at his notes like he showed up unprepared. How the hell did he get this far with such sub-par debating skills? He hasn't changed one bit after 4 years on the job. I expected him to come out guns blazing having been on the job and understanding what's at stake.

Remember tho, all the pundits were saying Obama had a weak speech at the convention but yet he got a big bump in the polls afterwards. Punditry don't matter much in the grand scheme of things.

Like I said Far Left host on MSNBC and CNN wanted Obama to lay the hammer. He played it cool on purpose. Again the more Romney and Ryan talk the worst they sound. Romney came off like a Liberal agreeing with Obama most of the Debate. Republicans can try to spin it cause they are invested in Romney now but how are they going to explain him going against a lot of things he said during the Primaries.
