Romney clearly won... Obama looked irritated, surprised, and unsure... like "is Romney really talking to me like that?"

Yea but when you are the President, you have to carry yourself a certain way. Obama has to play this game from the Middle like Clinton did. He is not going to the far left like MSNBC wanted him to. Also Obama hasn't debated in 4 years, again I expected Romney to come out swinging cause again He's losing.

He doesn't have to go far left. He has to look prepared, and not like a tired old man. Romney succeeded in making him look like that. He also had to be charismatic in making Romney look unfit to be president without attacking. Aside from a few moments, he didn't do that.

I texted my diehard democrat mom and asked her who won... She said Obama took an L. It is what it is, race will be Obama +1 or tied soon nationally, Bam can't afford two more fukk ups.

Obama was weak. However, the debate itself was boring and not memorable...and that's probably exactly how they wanted it. It's important to note that the challenger almost ALWAYS looks better than the incumbent in situations like this so I expected Romney to come out aggressively and probably get the win.

Given the shape of the economy, I'm surprised Obama didn't do WORSE. He was always gonna come into this debate having to defending this economy and I don't think Romney hurt him enough on that. Overall, I think Obama should've been more aggressive but this performance isn't enough to hurt him. Romney needed to do more. I think he agreed with him too much and could've went harder.

Yup...you were right. How'd you know? He came off as bumbling buffoonish jackass in the primary debates imo. He seemed like an entirely different person tonight.

That was the same Mitt Romney that had Teddy shook at one point. He has that polished affluent guy approach to debating. Here's the thing, Romney's style of speaking comes off flat if it's just him talking for long periods of time. His style doesn't change from stump speech, to convention to debate, but Obama has a major drop off.

Anyone from New England knew that Mitt is comfortable in this setting it's when he's among people that he looks terrible. More importantly, he only stumbles when attacked. He looked bad at times in the Republican debates because Perry, Paul and crazy dude from PA went at his head. Obama didn't. He did not put his foot on his neck. There were no biting remarks and cutting him off and holding him to the fire. There was no, "On this date you said this..." That's all he had to do when Romney denied the taxes. That's it.

All he had to do was paint that timeline. As far as Romney's debating skills, he's good at what I call the kitchen sink approach, he throws a bunch of bullshyt at you with utter confidence. The irony of that Mass shyt is that he would've lost if he ran for a second term, but Obama didn't bring that up to destroy his partisanship angle. He didn't bring up Romney taking credit for shyt he was opposed to. It was like he wasn't equipped for it. Or maybe, he just felt comfortable letting Romney keep going and to have that momentary victory but lose when the soundbites of him come up in the adds.

Obama didn't need to fight on education issue, college kids have his back. But he did not fight hard enough on Medicare. Dude clearly didn't want to be there.

thats for sure. very smart.

i have to give obama credit for the look he had on his face. he didn't look like he was affected. only thing was he wasn't looking romney in the eyes. and i'm glad no one is talking about that on the news.

but damn, that dude is cool. im pretty sure he smoked a pound of weed before that.

romney looks like a maniac.

Exactly. Why do people think with all the Ammo Obama had he didn't use the 47% or other things. This was clearly a strategy to let Romney do the talking cause we all know the more Romney talks the bigger the hole he bury himself in. When you are the front runner, you don't need to attack. Everything Romney he's been campaigning on he basically went against a lot of it in the debate. He even agreed that "Obamacare" Worked, LOL by agreeing that his plan in Mass was good. Again Obama played a chess move on his a$$. It doesn't look presidential to be all over emotional.
