Whatever happens in games 4-7, can we agree ANALYTICS has proven to be FALSE?

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Exactly. The league hasn't shifted, it's just there's been an influx of great wings and less bigs. Towns is about to go #1 overall because he translates better than every player in the draft. Someone will overdraft Winslow because they see wings playing well. Curry isnt awesome because he plays outside, he's awesome bc he's awesome.

I don't want centers shooting 3s, and PF's I'm learning to accept that, but no center of mine is taking 3s, that's where I draw the line :camby:

As soon as I saw the thread I said "i bet @Malta is in here sonning the shyt out of people":russ:

I will say this...

It doesn't look very good for the "you need people to stretch the floor" group:russ:

Cause Cleveland is having some of the most atrocious floor spacing I have seen in quite sometime...Mozgov and Thompson sure as shyt aren't threatening anyone more than 5 feet from the basket...although mozel gov can hit actually hit a jumpshot...

JR Smith drained a 3 with somebody so close to him I thought they were in the same jersey

I mean the Cavs are using them too. When they go small with James Jones at PF that has something to do with analytics

all season, we kept hearing how this GS team was a historically great team because of the analytics. we kept hearing how they would easily beat Cleveland (even before the injury to kyrie) because the analytics were so overwhelmingly on their side. when chuck or a few other dudes who actually played the game would say jump shooting teams don't win rings, they'd get called fools or behind the times.

what now numbers nerds?

Cleveland is winning this series playing rugged 90s basketball. Physical. Tough. Slow place. Isolation. LeBron is playing like 2001 Allen Iverson on STERIODS. high usage. high volume. LOW EFFICIENCY. Cleveland has stopped playing basketball and made this shyt a street fight for 48 minutes. and they're winning. this is how i always felt Memphis would beat GS. It took Cleveland to execute that gameplan.

meh....

memphis could have done the same thing if they had wing players that could score AND defend...

thats the recipe to beat GS...theres no magic to it

analpauseytics isn't about giving you a guaranteed result, it's about maximizing the edge for you or your team. It's not guaranteeing a 100-percent result, it's increasing the edge in your favor as much as possible.

But I agree that analytics is incredibly overrated as a tool to predict sports with. And I think some people put way too much faith in that over than trusting their own eyes and judgement

Stats are nothing without context. Analytics are great but only when the circumstances apply.

Basically....people only hate the term now because its being used as the end all be all. Such as saying that the warriors are one of the greatest teams of all time based on analytics and treating it as fact. When you can easily name at least 20 teams that would give this warrior team that work and that's just in recent times.

Isn't analytics kinda like science? So if Warriors lose to "90s style basketball" then, "90s style basketball" become part of the analytics on how to beat this Warrior's team? :yeshrug:

The playoff and regular season basketball are soooo much different i don't think analytics nerds realize this

You win titles with having an all time great player leading the way without one u can't

We're basically 2 games away from having a player win a title by himself meanwhile you got these nerds overanalyzing the game trying to tell me who your role players are is more or as important then your star :mjlol:

Decent write-up, and I agree. You would write an article.
