He's everything J Cole wish he was.

Which is ironic because Oddisee has been bitter about Cole for years. They had a studio session awhile ago and Oddisee has constantly insinuated Cole took his style from there. Meh.

I like multiple Oddisee projects but he lost me last year. Obviously another good album can win me back but I just got tired of the preachy shyt. IMO the best rappers tend to be hypocrites, and that's a good thing: it humanizes them. Nas, Pac, Ghostface, etc...all of them have spit game or advice that they later violated in some way, or they simply grew up and took another perspective/opinion. Listening to Nas doesn't feel like being preached too. Oddisee takes another approach, which is moreso rooted in his religion, and while I enjoyed him for a long time I think I'm good on that shyt now...

:francis:Oddisee is dope but do we need to go there? One can argue he is a poor mans black milk

I was just gonna say that. I always compare oddisee and black milk for some reason. Both are dope. Both are some of my fav artists but I think I prefer black milks material. Especially his last few albums.

You're thinking about The Good Fight (and I agree 100%)

Not in the slightest. :camby:

Iceberg was one of the top albums last year :ohlawd:

Cole and Oddisee ain't debatable at all.

Black Milk vs Oddisee is kinda debatable talent wise, but Oddisee makes better music IMO

Black is from my city, everything from his bars to certain subtle melodies i hear in his productions hits home for me, im going to be biased:manny:, but Black is also dope as hell and doesnt need a hometown dude like me to cape when he has fans world wide. I rock with Oddisee though/have all of his shyt, to me they are similar (from having a band on down to technique/craft) but Black is a darker/more cryptic version. I think cats sleep on Cole as far as the rappin, he's up there with the best in the game spittin' when he dedicates to that, its been proven too many times.
