North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
that shyt all goes back to avon, he wasnt trying to hear it when string told him they needed to get with prop joe on that package. same thing with him wanting his corners when he got out.

also, both D and Wallace were going to or very seriously consider snitching. can't be mad at him for killing either one of there.

"there go a life that had to be snatched, avon." - string

just dont see how dude was a bytch. he was about his money. that co-op shyt was such a good idea. to only sell drugs with no violence to have the cops on your dikk. nothing bytch-like there.

For one Prop Joe was Eastside and Avon told him that if they took Joe's package then they would be up under him for the forseeable future. He also said they fought hard for the towers so just giving them up like that even if its just a small piece, just looks bad.The could've gotten a better connect eventually. When the projects went down then it was time to go after Marlo and they would've taken out Marlo and his crew had Stringer Bell not snitched. It's other little shyt he did as well like breaking Sunday truce, disrespecting Brother Mouzone and trying to get him killed for protecting HIS property. Then this dumb nikka gets played by Clay Davis. Wallace was going to snitch but he refocused. D had his back and was going to guide him. Stringer didn't know with 100 percent certainty.. hell not even 40 percent. D'Angelo was at peace with his sentence and was going to do the years. Stringer Bell simply panicked like a bytch. Marlo beats up his crew and he did nothing about it. All for the co-op.

I came in here to post this. Stringer just made the Barksdale organization look weak. He's so focused on being a business man he forgot he was in the fukking streets and had to deal with things accordingly. Taking a package from Prop Joe....bad look. Letting his crew go on and do drugs and alcohol, undisciplined....when Avon came home from jail and saw the shyt he was fukking appalled. Not shutting down Marlo early in the game was just a bad look. Marlo knew they were weak when Stringer tried to squash the beef......That's why as soon as he left the meeting he told Chris, "Tell our peoples to tool up". He knew the rules, Avon and Stringer was supposed to take him to war. Imagine if some nikkas that ran your city, your neighborhood for years came to you talking about let's squash the beef and you could keep your corners, you'd think....oh these nikkas are some bytches I can take them lol. (Look at the way Kenard looked at Omar....he was weak to him) Avon said multiple times during the show, everyone's watching us on this move to make sure we don't look weak. Him and Marlo had it figured out, their name was their name. As Jay-Z said, Once you're tagged lame, the game is follow the leader.

Season 3 was about reform and how you just can't change things.....Stringer was simply trying to reform a game that wasn't going to stand for it. Had one foot in, one foot out........He made too many dumb ass mistakes. If he was really about his shyt he should have left the coke game.

The alley scene is a top 5 scene in The Wire history

"Suppose we could stay here all night"
"S'pose we could"

My lawyer's fav character is Mouzone lol

Back to to the subject though, String was my fav character until he became a snake and rat. I admired how he was different than the average dealer - intelligent with it.

But he had to go.

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
Stringer was a bytch. He got what he deserved. I was glad when he got clapped up. Stringer is like a lot of dudes in the streets -- always preaching a code - an ethic, "the game." But, if you ever noticed, that "game" always suited his self-interests, and when it didn't, he had no problem deviating away from it: snitching, lying, killing, etc., to save his own ass. His character represents how there's no loyalty in the "game" and ultimately everyone is out for themselves. But, they don't say, "Hey, I'm out for myself, breh; get in where you can fit in." Instead, they (someone like Stringer) have others promote their own interests under the guise of the "game" and family. It's a huge con. The "game" is bullshyt, just like Stringer.

One of the best posts in SOHH/The-Coli/TheColi history.

You on some whole other shyt for no reason. What exactly did Omar do that wasn't realistic? Besides jumping out that window? That other shyt is realistic as hell. You one of them nikkas who like to argue for no reason but to make yourself sound smart and end up looking dumb.

Yall going in on Stringer but real talk u might have made some of those same decisions if u was in his position and didn't know every single move Wallace or D was making. Stringer had no idea Wallace or D was gonna stay quiet. U can't take that risk. Like I feel Marlo didn't have to kill Bodie just cause they seen him with that cop but he had no choice, how was he supposed to kno. The game is dirty and at the end of the day, there really ain't no loyalty or "rules". All that ish is fake and was made by the top dogs to keep their soldiers in line. It's no different than the square world. You think your boss/manager ain't breaking certain rules or codes that they make sure u follow?

I thought what goes around, comes around :yeshrug:

I agree.

I got into the series VERY late (literally just started and finished the series up about a month ago), so just from glancing at tidbits of info about the show on the boards over the years I had already knew that Stringer was going to die and even knew it was towards the end of S3, so I wasn't shocked or anything about that in itself. Though how he went out and that it was Avon that pretty much gave him out like that (albeit Avon was almost forced to as well due to Stringer's plotting of Omar and Brother Ozone) was surprising to me.

While I respected Bell's ultimate ambition, the means that he was going thru to get there was quite shiesty and disrespectful indeed. It's to the point that I'm kinda surprised some folks like him like that. He was quite conniving and pretty much was evil. Pretty much no code of honor it seemed. I thought it was hilarious that after all the work he was putting in to go legit, he was about to just blow it all on trying to assassinate Clay Davis for screwing him over like he did. Even his flunkies new that couldn't be done on that level by them, lol.
