Damn, it's hard. My top 3.

5th, 4th, 7th. NES was the first console I got. Dreamcast was one of my favorite consoles of all time. I voted 5th

Tied to me 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th.

4th gen had probably pound-for-pound my favorite system of all-time: SNES (PS2 is a close runner-up). Plus the arcade games. SF2, MK2, Samurai Showdown, etc.

That 6th had FFXI on the PS2 :wow: I played that game for years and met up with people irl from it.

The thing about that 3rd gen is those IP's are basically still around today. Those straight up built companies.

PS2 and PS4 were my favorite eras

Although playing Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast and SF4 on 360 are unforgettable experiences for me

I'll go with the 7th. That was my sweet spot in life where I was at the age where I was transitioning from focusing on partying and chasing girls. But I wasn't too entrenched in my career and family life. So I had time to game consistently.

We got introduced great new IP's like the arkham series, dead space, Forza, Gears, Mass Effect, Uncharted, bioshock, The Last of Us, Bayonetta and Assassin's Creed.

Ip's like CoD, fallout and Red dead evolved and became the juggernauts that they are now today.

Xbox Live and psn really took off and pretty much made online gaming for consoles the norm.

There was a renescance in fighting games with mainstays like Street Fighter 4, MK making huge comebacks.

The goat returned to video game basketball with 2k11 and 12.

We got arguably the best Mario (Galaxy), GTA (V), Halo (3) and Elder Scrolls (Skyrim) games ever.

It's the last generation where me and my friends actually sat in one living room and played madden, 2k, street fighter.

Current cause I play on PC and have access to all previous generations (up to 7th) on one machine :wow:

But for real , sixth generation is the true GOAT.
You can play PS3 games on PC? :ohhh:

What kinda PC you got?

I’m still thinking about getting the Steam Deck

This is a hard ass question to answer

4th gen is what made gaming what it became

3rd was OK but NES games don’t stand the test of time

Genesis and SNES games are still fun to play today

Plus those gens we got some of the GOAT arcade games

But 6th-8th were amazing as well

I’ll have to vote later

This is a dope thread :ehh:

Ps3 era. First console I bought with my own money at launch. First time online gaming and the console had such great media capabilities. Cheap blu-ray and the media server had me eating. Then I got an hd TV in year 2 and going from 480p-1080i blew me. Only 2nd to seeing Mario 64 for the first time at a Toys'R'us kiosk. 09' on the games were hitting. Big reason why I'm a fan of Sucker Punch and GG studios till this day.

I fukked with a lot of games from last gen heavy but it introduced possibly the WOAT thing in gaming besides maybe micro transactions

The fact you can’t just pop a game in and play. You’re limited to which games you can play by what you have downloaded to your system :hhh:

That’s fukking trash. AND last gen was the one that introduced micro transactions as we know it :hhh:

So yea while a lot of the games may have been dope, gen 8 and beyond is eliminated from being GOAT just off the strength of that alone :camby:

If you want to emulate ps3, I wouldn’t get a steam deck. The performance for rpcs3 isn’t the greatest. It can emulate the other systems fine though
