The only reason Bowie didn’t sue JB was because that joint flopped hard on the charts. :mjlol:

BUT THIS ONE HERE….

NO SHAME :dead:

Might as well name the song “Fantastic” since they bit so hard off of “Outstanding”

And I still don’t care about about Bowie suing, all cacs do is steal black music and as far as I’m concerned James Brown just did eminent domain on that song.

that was Bowie's first number 1 hit
John Lennon is on it, he helped him with Fame and Changes and gave him his first number 1 with this stolen shyt lol
this "sampling" is worse today because copyright law
before it was mostly ripping artists off

Universal would own the former group... then make you sample it, and charge you to clear a sample they already owned and double dip into your pockets :russ: people are too dumb to realize. The 2nd artist is fukked for free... today they do remakes quick because the original artists are close to getting their masters back, so they exploit the old shyt they have all the way before they give it back to you.

Sony can sign Olivia Rodrigo for example, force her to use Michael Jackson samples, charge her millions again and make money off both releases. when they could have cleared the shyt for free. Now shes in millions more debt

Not really, its just physiological people tend to gravitate to what they know...also memories are connected to a familiar melody's.
it has nothing to do with double dipping...why you think its so easy to sell on just nostalgia

I used to think that shyt was fly because at the least the artists would try to do something different subject matter wise with the beats.

Nowadays it just comes off lazy and corny

I seriously thought that was just a mislabeled video of "Outstanding" for a second or two. :mjlol:

Jagged Edge remade Lets Get Married throughout a whole album:

If there's still meat on the bones, why throw it away when you can make greens with that bih?

I remember back in the SOHH days that there was thread about them saying they don't write shyt, and just freestyled all their shyt. Everyone believed it. :mjlol:

shyt been happing really since the days of the Sugarhill Gang. In the early 90's, using or flipping the same sample became popular due to blend tapes with DJ's like Ron G, Kid Capri, and S&S taking R&B vocals and meshing them over hip hop beats. Also can't leave out the dancehall influence on this as well. Today, you're seeing that same method especially with artists reusing the Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can see sample into the ground.

Breh, their most well known song literally uses "We ain't getting no younger, we might as well do it," as one of the deal closers for getting married. No one can ever convince me they weren't just making shyt up as they went the entire time. :mjlol:
