Thor is too disconnected from the rest of the MCU

The reason this is coming up today is because I just saw this post on IG saying that there's been some talk of Dr Strange becoming the New face of the MCU going fwd.
Dude then says he wishes it was Thor. And I got to thinking likeit really should be Thor.
Obviously they were gonna have the new face be Tchalla initially but it just wasn't to be (RIP Chad).
But if they are looking for a new face, why not Thor?

Him being fat was PTSD from dealing with Thanos
From a story perspective, Fat Thor was a thing because we know Thor came in with Stormbreaker and gave Thanos that work.
It wouldn't make sense for there to be a final battle if Thor was regular. He would just do it again but just go for the head.
