Personally, I love Embrya the most out of all of Maxwell’s albums. UHS was my intro to Maxwell and I love it dearly still. Songs like Reunion, Dancewitme, Suitelady, Lonely’s the Only Company etc. It is brilliant modern soul. I think Embrya just speaks to me the most tho, as a music lover and artist myself.
Embrya is just so ambitious and groovy. It mixes ambient, psychedelia, electronic stuff and even has a rockish edge at times. The vibe is so cool and weird. Submerge, Gravity, Everwanting, Matrimony and Eachsecond… are just top tier songs. Love Embrya and Maxwell so much. Shame the album was panned by critics until recently. It’s so cool!
Really? I woulda been tight as hell if he didn't perform any of those songs. I went to the Maxwell concert at the Barclay's a lil while back and he did one of my all time fav Maxwell songs "Submerge" off that album.
A country album??Urban Hang Suite is a whole mood, as the kids say.
Embrya is thinking music, you gotta be outside for that.
Now is a lowkey a Country album. I only bought it because a made a strip club
beat from a sample of “This Woman’s Work”.
Yeah that didn’t make no sense. I guess he said that because he heard an acoustic guitar on a couple tracks and just called it a country albumA country album??
Y'all be saying anything on here.

No, it didn't.It had a rustic, acoustic, twangy aesthetic to it.
No, it didn't.
I attended his concert, which was really good, but noticed he didn't perform ANY songs off embrya.. Not even matrimony
Which made me wonder am I the only one who thought that was his best album...
