There were way too many scumbags in the Godfather universe to finally wind up with Micheal having to go against Tom. But yeah they really f*cked up by wasting Micheal's son character like that. what a waste

I think it would've made for an interesting film . A chess game between Michael and Tom. Tom bitter for the way he was treated in GF2. Well I was speaking more in terms of rehashing a brother beef, Fred being an idiot. Tom being the opposite.
But Tom wasn't "a wartime consigliere". He was definitely a smart dude and the glue of the family but he wasn't really built for war. Plus he wasn't Italian so I don't know if he could get Italian familia goons on his side or if he would have to just hire random goons.
You know hollywood though... .They can make up anything they want. It could've been more of a cerebral war. Tom taking out Michael without him recognizing. But like I said, anything couldve been better than the final product. They rushed it.

No. Just ideas and scripts that were written at some point. Maybe one day we will get a godfather 4. Scary to think about. But it could happen. Imagine a reboot
