Everyone has already said these two..but yeah Sonic and Mass Effect the thread.

But anyway..

Definitely...Call of Duty. Went from my whole crew playin to no one coppin the last few years releases at all. Nowhere near where it use to be.

Fallout hasn't fallen off yet, I would give it until FO5 atleast to call it. FO4 wasn't as good as 3/NV sure. 76 was just a online multi experiment cash grab. But yea it did damage the brand.

So Cal
.skate killed that franchise, that shyt was ether.

Funny thing is the tony hawk games of that time hold up better than .skate does now but the damage was already done.
I could never get into skate, that ass cam was trash to me. I still play proving grounds every now and then though.

I have to co-sign this...there hasn’t been a hit main-line Sonic game since Dreamcast. After SA2 it fell off and never recovered.

I think these 3 are the main contenders.

Sonic obviously has the longest chain of duds...and the few gems that pop up like Sonic Generations and Sonic Mania don’t get a lot of buzz.

Banjo Kazooie is a great pick and serious sleeper contender. BK and Banjo Tooie were two of the best selling games on the N64...Nuts & Bolts was so damn bad it put the franchise on ice for over a decade. It pulled a “Batman & Robin” in this bytch.

Mass Effect....fukk, 3 & Andromeda wrecked everything.

Moral of the story is these big publishers buy these little publishers and destroy them from the inside. It’s sad.

I don't think Sonic should be mentioned because it's been hit or miss going all the way back to the Sega Saturn days. Sonic has always been a series of high highs and low lows. For every console gen we usually get at least ONE really good Sonic game but we can expect 2 or 3 bad ones along the way, I don't consider that a falloff, it's just what Sonic is. I don't think they will stop making Sonic games anytime soon.

Mass Effect is the biggest offender but 3 and Andromeda actually have great gameplay, just the story took a hit and then Andromeda was a technical mess because it was rushed. The actual games themselves aren't bad when you're playing them.

After 10 they started experimenting with the combat systems and it hasn't worked out for the most part.

Xl was decent, everything after that ranges from mediocre to awful.
Ff11 combat is ass juice. Ff14 the best mmo out right now. 12 was dope and 15 was solid:manny:

I had fun with skate when it was new because it did a lot of stuff we never saw before in a skate game but now that stuff isn't so new anymore and it's not good. Proving grounds is a better game, but at that time everyone shat on tony hawk and bought skate instead and tony hawk basically died because of it.

I read somewhere that skate 1 outsold proving grounds by more than a 2:1 margin

Hold on fam :whoa::whoa::whoa::whoa::whoa:

Have you played skate in 2019? Proving grounds is way better now. Tony hawk aged better
Nah Skate changed the game with the controls.

Skate 2 and 3 especially.

The button mashing combos were fun but skates controlling was more challenging while still being fun.

I meant FF12 was decent. Good battle system, terrible cast of characters and boring story tho.

FF11 was trash, 13 was trash.

FF14 was trash on release and literally took years to become a decent game.

FF15 was some kinda garbage mix of hack and slash with rpg elements, a huge empty open world and a shytty story.

Banjo Kazooie - two classic games and you could argue the first is the GOAT platformer.

3rd game went totally left field and they basically just slapped the name on it for sales so we don't even acknowledge that.

So we've only gotten two proper games in 21 years which is just sad.

This. shyt was coo, but let's not act like Rare platformers @ this time weren't just big ass collection fests w/ some shytty level design @ times
