What SHOULD WWE’s course of action be now that AEW has wild momentum? Draft? Go w/ youth? Legends?

WWE has the talent but they don't have the drive and the patience to push anyone into that Roman level. On the women's side they have no choice but to push the most talented women but on the men's side they don't trust anyone beyond Roman so that's why we see Cena and Goldberg and Edge

I don’t think RAW is going back to 2 hours anytime soon. That’s a USA decision, not a WWE decision.

And I genuinely think going with fresh faces at the top is the best way to counter the Punk acquisition because it’ll help long term. Even if you don’t see results right away.. They could easily snatch up Brock or something, but that’s shortsighted.

The problem is instead of having ideas and pushes for guys like Riddle, Ricochet etc. they have them eating pins while protecting dudes like Omas and Aziz..

And I like Omas.. but why feed Riddle to him when Riddle has the potential of being a crossover star due to his personality? I don’t see that in Omas. He’s just the typical run of the mill tall guy. They could easily have a shield type group of mostly unknowns come in and set shyt off. They HAD it with UE but never pulled the trigger. They’re still trying to give us shortsighted bullshyt like Goldberg, instead of really investing in something long term and building it

He’s not going to out mark AEW. They’ve built a fan base of smart marks that feel appreciated and catered to. Thats not a bad thing, thats a great move by them. WWE can’t play in that lane. What they can do is start creating good television on their part understanding that people will change the channel. With Punk’s arrival they’ve got to look at that like Ja should have when 50 dropped “Wanskta” and got some buzz. They’re one hit, or in this case one storyline away from being a problem. If they can’t see that that’s on them, but you’ve got a top guy there now who’s Vince level petty enough to stay up all night putting the pieces together to make it happen.

You're standing on that hill all alone with the scjerk crowd, promo was fire, shat on his previous employer in less than 50 words. It was great.

Regarding the main topic, the WWE hasn't created such organic buzz in forever, they're unable too, they appeal to the 55 year Olds and adults living on the attitude era buzz and hoping the mediocre product they're watching now gets back to its glory days.

There's nothing it can do other than some YouTube and MMA celebrities coming over meanwhile the Punk buzz will stay hot enough and by the time it starts fading we getting Bryan. They can't counter that even if they bring back Lesnar who literally is the definition of someone not moving a needle
You're too much of a fanboy to take seriously. As far as the bold, Becky Lynch achieved this.

What did we really have last night? A return in a home town. A promo nowhere near pipe bomb status and a match set with Darby Allen.

In a month Punk will be curtain jerkin wrestling Luchasaurus.

:therethere: It's ok little buddy, you and Max can go retreat to the stinks thread to console each other.

I don’t think RAW is going back to 2 hours anytime soon. That’s a USA decision, not a WWE decision.

This is exactly why Raw will never go back down to 2 hours unless another network ponies up the TV rights. USA isn't about to lose an hour of ad revenue for their highest rated content.

Problem with a thread like this is there's what they should do and what's more than likely going to happen. I could rattle off what should be done but the problem is it really depends on what Vince McMahon is thinking that very second.

I could see them throwing the bag and signing Gable Steveson ASAP, and hoping he picks pro-wrestling up as quickly as people like Kurt Angle and DeAngelo Williams did. After the Olympics - he's a big enough name to draw in some casual viewers.

It's not an immediate payoff, but they've put people on TV who are still green, when they've dealt with celebrities in the past. :manny:

The writing is a longer term fix. As a writer, some of the story directions I've seen them take in the past have lowkey given me anxiety :mjlol: Vince isn't one for changing his mindset. The only way it gets better is if someone else takes control of the booking,

Who are these young stars even the young guys who people are saying are early or mid 30s already

There no early to mid 20 young guys that you can say is the future

There no Rock or Edge, Christian, Hardy Boyz, Angle young guys who you kind of knew had next at some point or where at least going to be solid mainstay midcard guys

Plus outside of Brock, Cena, Orton, Batista the last 20 years there talented development has sucked

Which is why there in this mess now and this was long before NXT and Hunter

They got to corporate and they started going overboard micromanaging everything

Since they want WWE the brand as the star the brand sells out Summerslam or Mania not the matches so they are like we can put out a half ass product and we can still sale out and get all these big money deals so why even really put any effort or energy really into anything.

I see why they want the under 30 model right now just have to hope you can get a Brock, Angle, type of young dude who just gets it quick

  • Give PPV worthy matches on free TV (if the money long, who gives a shyt)
  • Focus on building the stars
  • KEEP TRIPS AWAY FROM THE WWE
  • Beat Dub at their game by doing partnerships with various promotions without treating the shyt like a job interview
  • Stop hiring wrestlers without focusing on your established stars
  • Dial back on the events (go back to the basics)

Man. This one. WWE gotta let these wrestles be free and show what they can do. I know it’s not the wrestlers but like what was even the last MUST SEE Raw match!???? Those shyts are terrible and formulaic as fukk.

AEW is giving you storyline progression every week…actual storylines that have a conclusion AND good wrestling to eat off of. We getting PPV level cards random Wednesdays out the week sometimes.

You’re misinterpreting

People want fresh faces in prominent roles. We don’t give a fukk about their age. We just want FRESHNESS.

Bryan was on the wrong side of 30 when he got his main event role, but he was NEW and FRESH. We’d love to see a guy like Riddle get main event placements, doesn’t matter to us if he’s 27 or 37. We’re just tried of the same shyt.

The main event of the biggest show of the year is literally Reigns vs Cena.. like dog, WE’VE SEEN THIS. GIVE US SOMETHING NEW.

This notion that Roman is the only successful star makes no sense to me.

When the likes of Sasha, Bianca, Becky have thrive majorly.

Now if you mention the male stars then yeah for sure.

I do agree that those 3 are the other stars and maybe throw Charlotte in there we have to keep it real on how WWE almost fukked it up with all of them. Still have time to fukk it up if we being honest.

Sasha had to take time away because they were booking her like shyt and Vince had to get his mind right. Almost ran off one of the GOAT women.

Charlotte’s booking has not been to her benefit at all. shyt even in her work as of late it looks like she doesn’t want to be there at times.

Bianca’s booking since being champion has been meh. I still feel like they would just have to completely drop the ball to fukk this up with her.

Becky they fell into basically accidentally or forcefully ala Daniel Bryan. We’ll see how she’s handled when she comes back. I have a feeling they’ve already threw some ideas at her she wasn’t feeling. She has the power to say no now though.
