Didn't watch the video but Nintendo's been around for over 100 years...They had the headstart and for a certain generation, "Nintendo" is synonymous with video games.
The older people in my family say “you still playing them Nintendo games?”. My reply is always “this is a PlayStation/Xbox, you still watching movies and TV shows?”. Then when it clicks in their head what I said, they stfu

I don't understand how people still buy this stuff. Maybe because todays parents grew up on it and they buy it for their kids.
It's just inferior..it has been since N64. They've been behind the curve for over two decades. Embarassingly behind. People buy their hardware to play 5 to 10 games per generation.

A install base that will accept the bare minimum from and still fellate every anti consumber/terrible decision they make.
I saw the new Zelda trailer and was shocked by the comments about how beautiful it looks and thought I was crazy :gucci:. Nintendo knows how to milk the games they are known for and tap into kids and adults that still want to feel like a kid in 87.

For better or worse, they understand the power of the brand more than both Sony and Microsoft.

They can release a brand new 8/16 bit console, price it at $499 with $70 games and get away with it as long as Mario, Zelda, Pokémon and Splatoon are on it.
