My personal take on this is the WestCoast got it, hands down. Dre, Daz, Quik, Battlecat, Warren G, even new producers like Terrace Martin, Sounwave, Mike&Keys etc.

But at the same time I can’t overlook the South

Organized Noize, Pimp C, Beats by The Pound, KLC, Mannie Fresh, Justice League, DJ Paul & Juicy J, Pharrell/The Neptunes, Big K.R.I.T, Metro Boomin, 808 Mafia, Londononthetrack, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Bink! Jermaine Dupri, Dj Spinz Dj Squeeky, Midnight Black, Shawty Redd, etc

Or The EastCoast

Preemo, RZA, Easy Mo Bee, The Hitmen, The HeatMakers, Just Blaze, Dame Grease, Swizz Beats, Ski Beatz, Large Professor, Q-Tip, Havoc, Eric B, Marley Marl, Questlove, Salaam Remi, Ron Browz etc

Or The Midwest

The Legendary Traxster, Dilla, Hi-Tek, Kanye West( the nikka y’all love to hate right now, and rightfully so :pachaha:) No I.D., Helluva, The Bass Brothers, R.Kelly, Chuck Inglish, Young Chop, Mr. Porter, U-Neek, Black Milk, Soundtrakk, Prolyfic, etc

Which region would you pick and why?

East coast just off the strength of Preemo, RZA, Havoc, Pete Rock, and Q-Tip.

:snoop: Damn fam I don’t know I forgot Pete Rock, but as much as fukk with those four I feel like Dre, Quik, Daz, and Battlecat beat them just off of the musicality of their production alone them nikkas really go in and arrange records dawg and honestly I would take G-Funk over Boom Bap any day. I still fukk with the EastCoast but that’s just my 2 pennies on it

I like G-Funk, and this may be a common response, but Doggystyle is my favorite West Coast album oat. It's also in my top 15. But I got more East Coast albums in my top 10.

Dj Premier from Houston. South had the best no competition as a whole though.

I know bruh but he made his stamp working almost exclusively with EastCoast rappers and is arguably one of the most recognizable faces of the Boom Bap sound, a nikka that really doesn’t care to research bruh like that would never even know he was from Houston

Doggystyle is dope as fukk Snoop’s version of Lodi Dodi was FIRE and young Snoop was really one of the first rappers to embody swag in just his delivery alone (he just might be top 5 coolest rappers of all time if not top 10) and damn near anything this nikka said sounded cool especially over Dre and Daz’s production and the mix on that album is A1, so I feel you but your top 10 is probably the polar opposite of mine with Life After Death being my favorite EastCoast album of all time and some other exceptions

As far as popularity and success it would be the South or West but straight up saying who's the best is personal preference IMO so there's no real "true" answer.

I feel you my nikka but I made this thread just to see what kinda answers people would come up with it’s interesting to me to see who people pick and why

East Coast by far.

Then the South

Bruh the fact that most of the all-time greats from East primarily sampled for most of their production (I know Dre and Quik an nem sampled a lot in the beginning of their careers, but they went on to make records with much more musicality especially after G-Funk was introduced) is the reason I could never put them in the top spot plus I would put Dre and Quik over Preemo and Pete Rock any day of the week :yeshrug: I agree with you on the South tho :whew:
