Josh Allen has some expectations no question but you’re fooling yourself if it’s anything near Lamar. Like most people in here said, Bills were supposed to take a step back and instead Allen had one of his best seasons while losing some weapons. He’s also had strong playoff performances. You’re being obtuse if think he has the same pressure as Lamar.
I think Lamar has ALWAYS had expectations that other QBs not named Lamar have never had to deal with

Lamar played with some really subpar weapons his entire career with the Ravens, and has been criticized endlessly for essentially leading his team to the same level as Josh Allen who has had VASTLY more weapons every single year besides this year

Lamar FINALLY has a legit weapon in Henry, and he just put together one of the greatest QB seasons in NFL history.

If Josh Allen really is the better QB and “best player in the NFL” he has just as much pressure as Lamar to deliver

but as is tradition, Lamar is held to a completely different standard than anyone else

Stroud is ahead of Love because everyone acknowledges he's taken a step back but more importantly, everyone thinks the Texans are a layup until they show otherwise

Love would normally be higher, but that NFC North was so crazy that they're somehow they 7th seed against a team that has higher expectations of themselves. Anyone else, I might have ranked GB higher (say if they played WAS or TB, but they got a wild draw that they might win).

the Chargers kinda get a pass this year, not because of Herbert, but because they're overachieving and a W against Houston makes it so their season couldn't possibly be a letdown.

Stafford and Herbert could really go either way, but Stafford has less years to win again, but 9/10 can be whatever.
lol Stafford is a SB winning QB.. what pressure is there for him to deliver compared to a guy who has never sniffed a Championship game?

Jordan Love signed a MASSIVE contract, and we’re supposed to just be cool with his subpar performance? Nah.. they’ve played pretty horrible against every “good team” down the stretch. Jordan love is a BIG reason for their struggles. He’s been a detriment to them winning those games

He deserves higher spot on this list

Lamar, by far. It amazes how his fans dont really believe in him. Instead of expecting him to win it all, its Josh should have more pressure. The media is against Lamar, yet the same media who votes for all the awards, jas honored him with 2, soon to be 3, MVP awards
The only reason why he is being voted for those is because his numbers made it a moot point

He literally put together one of the greatest QB seasons of all time EVER, and there is still debate whether Allen should win it

Eh.

If Pat doesn't win, I honestly think no one is actually gonna give a fukk. It would have to be a complete collapse with multiple turnovers for a peep to even be made.
Yeah there is internal pressure on him and the team to make history but nothing really on the outside.

If he doesn’t 3peat, you can say “shyt, nobody else, not even Brady did it” :manny:

Who cares if its a debate, when he won it, though? There are ppl that thought Brees or Favre deserved the MVP over Peyton in 2009. PM still won it, though. That dude had one of the biggest chokejobs in modern sports history, just last season. Now we are supposed to act like it doesnt matter? He should have all the pressure. It is not unprecdented, either. Peyton got called out by his kicker for not showing up in big games. Elway made 3 Superbowls and was still getting torn to shreds for playing awful when he got there. Steve Young got ripped for not winnng a S, until he did.

There’s zero pressure on Darnold

Nobody outside of Minnesota think they going to beat Detroit or Philly… hell that might lose to stafford

Allen will always get a pass because he might throw for 330 yards and give u 3 TD against the chiefs but the media would say hey it’s mahomes and reid BS again

But outside of Lamar i said in my previous post

Goeff needs to get to the superbowl with home field advantage

It's josh allen. He is going to be the league mvp not because he was the best player in football in the regular season but because of lamar voter fatigue and the media love and narrative. No excuses. He has the exact same number of conference finals appearances as lamar. It's time to win the big games. They already changed the playoff rules once because he couldn't beat mahomes in regular time
bullshyt Josh Allen has done damn near everything possible to win those games. The defense has given up over 35PPG to the Chiefs
Josh Allen is constantly talked about as a HOF level, best player in the NFL, and has the same level of success as Lamar in the postseason
Josh Allen is 5-5 in the playoffs 26 TDs to 7 turnovers
Lamar is 2-4 6 TDs 6 turnovers
Allen sent Lamar home in the postseason no they aren't the same
The answer is Lamar it's not close 9 pro bowlers 6 all pros no excuses

How long have I been watching football? Since 1989. Lamar put up 10 pts, had a thousand chances to win the game, yet he couldnt get it done. Imagine being the MVP, the overwhelming SB favorite, at home, your number one ranked defense holds KC to 0, 0 pts for the entire 2nd half and you put up 10. That is a massive chokejob. Im a football encyclopedia. Not much you can tell me that I dont already know. Once again, why are you putting words in my mouth? I said one of, I never said thee biggest choke, but you were sure to change the premise of my post, though.

I choose Jared Goff
  • Goff needs to make it to the Superbowl in order for that Rams-Lions deal to look good for both sides.
  • The Lions have the Bye and on paper should make it to the Super Bowl; in a sense, the door is wide open.
  • Ben Johnson is leaving after this season
Though cases can be made for Lamar in terms of if he can have success, now that he has Henry... along with Josh Allen, and if he can beat Mahomes when it matters.
I get it but that trade already looks good. They both addressed what they needed to address. LA won now and Detroit’s future ended up being bright. I know the chip for Detroit would be the icing on the cake though

wtf.. you literally just said he had one of the BIGGEST CHOKEJOBS IN SPORTS HUSTORY.

Do you proofread what you post? Cause if you think that, then I automatically assume you have zero clue about wtf you’re talking about

Let’s be honest. Zay Flowers fumbled at the 1 inch line otherwise it would have been 17 with an opportunity to maybe win the game on the last drive.

@jaydawg08 so Lamars performance in last years' AFC title game, wasnt a choke?? Since you wanna question my football knowledge, other infamous NFL chokejobs, without looking it up, I dont need fukking Twitter.
2010 Divisional Brady was the NYJ
2009 NFC Title, Favre
2006 AFC Div Playoffs McNair
SB37, Rich Gannon
2007 Divisional Playoffs Cowboys
2010 NFC Title, Kyle Williams. There arr different chokejobs. There are team chokes and individual chokes

Lamar took MULTIPLE teams to deep playoff runs that frankly didn’t belong without him

Mark Andrew’s is an overrated TE, and he was his best weapon on offense. Was throwing to the likes of Snead, and Hollywood Brown as his #1 targets those couple of years, or hand the ball to Gus Edward’s as your bell cow

Josh Allen had Diggs to always be there, a consensus top 5 WR during those years

Lamar has NEVER EVER had that level of weapon on the outside. Gabe Davis has been better than any other Ravens WR before Flowers…. And he was the #2 guy
