Paul Scholes is the GOAT English man of all time and its not even close.

If England played him in his best position the country wouldn't be such an embarrassment in world football

Then again England deserves to be where its at.. all them years of being :mjpls: finally hitting them back

Euro 92 Ian Wright didnt make the squad even though he was the best goalscorer in the league that season :mjpls:
Andy Cole had trouble getting into the team, heard Teddy Sheringham had a problem with him :mjpls:

Messi gotta win a Copa or WC to get back ahead of Ronaldo.

Most talented sure but Ronaldo is about to put some distance if they defend this CL title, after winning the Euro as captain. Also Ronaldo has dominated in 2 countries.

a.k.a Africans :mjcry:

Lampard, Gerrard and arguably Scholes and Keane >
Ashley Cole has a case for it too.
Ashley cole was the best left back in the world for a few years. The same could never be said if Beckham. Hell, I'd take Sol Campbell or Scholes over that PR fabrication.

Its funny though.. American sports fan place such a premium on titles, that its hard for us to grasp Messi's greatness...

If you had someone like Messi in the NBA, who had superhuman abilities, and posted video game numbers... but he never had a title... no one would even say top 10.

I think 'futbol' fans are too lax on that shyt... With the length of his career, and the fact that Argentina has been a really good team that entire timeframe... he doesnt have any/. excuses

Messi was my favorite soccer player as a kid, but I saw him disappoint in just about every international competition.

He coulda won the 2014 world cup, but he missed by a couple feet

People like to use it as argument because there's no money involved when it comes to putting rosters together, but in reality it's not like that, there aren't many players who can say they have won a world cup and it's a best of 1, you gotta have luck to win it, and you don't have too many chances in your career. Maradona cheated to win his, people forget that.
Messi HAD a chance though :wow:

Disregard what the above poster said OP

It's a combination of everything really. He's the best goal scorer of all-time and one of the best playmakers of his own generation.

His finishing is GOAT and his speed / acceleration, dribbling and smartness is also GOAT level. There's not a single more effective dribbler in the history of the game (more flashy, yes, but not more effective). Not only is he the best and most effective goal scorer but when the team isnt working properly he'll drop down and take control of the game. He can drop to the midfield and start running the show from there, setting up players and start to break down the defense. He's also one of the best freekick takers of all-time. The way he operates with little to no space also separates him from the rest, he's impossible to defend. I actually just watched a video with him working with little to no space a couple of days ago

Waht a bunch of bullshyt. Messi is a great player but best ever ? Lmaaaooo.

You neggas kill me everytime. We can sit here and say the same shyt about plenty of players.

Tell me one player who has played with 2 players that finished top 3 and top 5 in the race for Ballon d or ? I'll wait. :sas2:

There was a time in 2012, the last 3 finalist for player of the year was Messi, Xavi and Iniesta. All played with Messi. All played right behind Messi and was feeding him assist. Spain dominated international football all throughout Messi's peak. Coincidentally, Spain squad was more than half Barca players :mjlol:

Seriously, stop exposing y all selves.

While CR7 led his nations to a euro cup, messi cried and quit like a bytch in the easier tournament (copa)

Cr7 out here scoring back to back hat tricks in the CL and messi is at home cause his team bounced out of the tourney

:rudy:

He was useless and they won it after he got subbed off. He didn't lead shyt. One of the worst players of the team throughout the tournament.
