Die Hard could be about the christmas spirit also breh..at its core, it's about a man trying to put his family back together and atone for the sins he's made. Isn't that what Christmas is about? Family and forgiveness?

i hear ya breh..but when i think about xmas, i don't think of guns, profanity, cocaine and explosions

Yeah I feel you..so I assume Kiss Kiss Bang Bang wouldn't be on your list?
nowhere near.

other than them mentioning it happened the previous christmas, and him stealing toys in one the opening scene and i think a glimpse of a santa hat there was nothing christmasy to me

but that's just me

Well it also has the theme of family and commercialization of Christmas going for it. That's a thing Shane Black loves to do apparently, subvert Christmas by having these crazy things happen during Christmas with a lot of violence and ridiculousness but the family theme is still there and the idea of the family being the one thing that will get you through the madness. Lethal Weapon is the perfect example of that

We're on the same page breh. I just like adding stuff to the pot for conversation and I do like thinking about flicks like Kiss Kiss Bang Band Die Hard and Lethal Weapon as good Christmas movies just for their overall message. It's like the time I read that The Simpsons is one of the most religious shows on TV even though most people don't think about it or see it that way but there's more mentions of God and them being active in the church than on most tv shows about religion. Just some food for thought

I've never seen the family stone
its about an annoying chcik trying to make a good impression on a close knit family over the holiday. Solid Cast, Diane Keaton,Rachel Mcadams, Luke Wilson, Dermont Mulroney, Sarah Jessica Parker, Craig T Nelson

these films capture the christmas feeling, all comedies and all came out when i was a kid. nostalgia is big with christmas flicks, lethal weapon and die hard are hard core action flicks with a christmas back drop. ET takes place during halloween but no one ever says et is a halloween movie. i never see it on halloween lists.

I think it's because people think of halloween movies as scary and ET, while it has a couple thrilling moments, isn't scary. I'd argue that a movie like Die Hard still has some christmas values in it though, just like Lethal Weapon, just like Ice Harvest and just like Bad Santa

Yeah even Gruber's theme is a sick version of a christmas song
