Defense had Kyrie has never been one of Kyrie’s strength. He’s generally average at it.
Him being asked to fill a shutdown role is bad for the mavs Cause they lack offense and scoring as it is. And all the offensive load rests on the shoulder of Luka and he has to do all the scoring alone, because Kyrie is mainly occupied on defense and can’t concentrate on offense as he wants (his main strength and skill) and the rest of the mavs roster aren’t threats offensively and can’t score lol.

They need to add more « 3 and D » players on the roster.

The irony is that the Mavs traded away Dorian Finney-Smith to get Kyrie. He was perfect for them. To me the Mavs offense is too simplistic, it was so easy for the Thunder to defend them. But you gotta put some blame on Luka, this is the roster he wanted

He doesn't want any bigs to have post moves and "clog the paint". Only wants wings to be spot up shooters. This is the end result

Jdubb is not a 2nd scorer. He's a situational player that will make the occasional tough shot. He has more of a 6th man game.

Nah, they don't clog the paint in the traditional sense. They are only being used to catch lobs, set screens, and catch Luka and Kyrie's bricks

They traded away Porzingis because he wanted to operate in the post more. The team literally said "the post game is extinct" . They could have used a post player tonight against the Thunder
