I know nothing about investing in stocks :mjcry: and I entered the workforce during the last recession so I'd be scared the stock market would crash and I'd lose all my money
You invest money you don't need right now. Coming in during a crash you get low prices so you make money. You really missed a great opportunity to begin investing. It's still not really a bad time though but the markets have recovered about half their worst falloff.

YouTube is an excellent place to learn about how to invest.

Don't put all your money in at once. If you aren't confident there's a few companies you can buy that you'd be bulletproof on long term. Apple (pays a dividend), Microsoft (dividend), Google, Facebook, Amazon. All those companies have such strong balance sheets that even if you lose capital appreciation in the short term you'll regain it whenever the markets recover.

This is a very good dividend EFT
Yahoo is now a part of Verizon Media
It invest in companies like Home Depot, Intel, Verizon, Pepsi, Coke, Proctor & Gamble, Pfizer, IBM. For every 3 months for every share of that you buy it would pay you 0.40 or per share. If you put $10,000 into it it would pay you $328 which you reinvest. You let that compound over decades.

I'm not telling you to do this just giving options. There's no way I'm sitting on $50K though. That money can work for you to make more money.

I’ve worked at all kinds of banks and all imma say is that the notion that most Americans live paycheck to playcheck is 100% true no matter how much they make

Over $8500 in savings but I have $90k in student loans. I have under $300 in checking but after pay my car insurance it will be less than $150 left. I don’t do much now so it’s ehh.

Note: I just spent close to $1k on an engagement ring. Great deals on that stuff right now.

21k overall between checking and savings, should be able to hit 30k by the year's end God willing. It's my last year of living with my parents before I get my own spot. I don't have any debt either

A couple years ago I was feeling really good having 15k+ sitting pretty in my account. Just loved to pull up my bank account and see it as a “savings”.

In reality it was great I had money saved up but I really was doing myself a disservice just having it chillin rather investing it. I’ve watch that money 2x putting it in the stock market along with my Roth. You really playing yourself just having money sitting.
