Selection bias.

I don't think it's that people are lying, it's probably more that people who have time to post on the Internet all day are probably more educated/more well-off/have better jobs on average than the general population.

You guys that have over 10K to your name, what do you do for a living? I wish I could save like that. I just can't. The struggle is real over here. I have about 4 grand to my name. And I've got a struggle credit card with a 5 thousand dollar limit.

I don't spend much money, or at least try not to and I'm now regretting the fact that I financed a new car when I could've just pulled money out of the bank and bought a fairly clean used vehicle. I always keep $100 in cash on me at all times. I have three credit cards Quicksilver, AMEX and PayPal both have 5k, 15k, 5k limits respectively. When my father passed I got most of the life insurance payout as a beneficiary and I put that into my savings, so I have around $80k in savings. Got 1800 or something like that in my checking account, already paid my April bills so it's looking a bit lean.
