Not hating but I honestly can't name anything the NAACP has done in the last 5-10 yrs
When I think of them I basically think of the civil rights era, since that's the only era they seemed to get busy

We need to keep track of what corporations are abandoning giving black people a seat at the table and move accordingly
I don't want to see anymore Cardi B meals at McDonalds or no shyt like that if they can't ride for the black community

The NAACP has filed lawsuits to stop the outright banning of such programs in Texas and Florida. ...Still, the NAACP, the ACLU et al. are pushing through challenges.

Just so we're all clear, this is the woman who should be point on this:

Keisha Deonarine serves as Director of Opportunity, Race, and Justice, guiding the strategy that drives the NAACP's work inclusive economy, race, and justice work. Keisha is a consultant specializing in anti-racism and anti-white supremacy strategic planning. She commits to educating businesses, organizations, and individuals contextualizing and resolving inequitable outcomes that are rooted in our shared Black history and race.

Keisha Deonarine is a prominent figure in the field of social justice work and community advocacy. She is currently leading as Director of Opportunity, Race, and Justice at the NAACP, where she oversees the organization's national inclusive economy strategy. Keisha's work centers around driving transformative change with a racial equity lens, specifically aimed at advancing the progress of Black and Brown economy.

Lobbying and lawsuits won’t work exactly the same for us. Y’all forget that they were ITCHING to get rid of DEI. It just would’ve looked bad if they did it. Trump and MAGA being elected let these ppl do what they wanted to do. They’d push back, file counter suits, or create policies to go around this shyt if they really wanted to.

Didn’t Costco push back and say no to this shyt? Walmart, etc couldn’t do the same?

If they wanted to, they would.
That's a defeated mindset and don't take it as disrespect. :hubie:Also, it doesn't work for us because we don't it. It's really that simple although the time, effort, and money has to be plentiful. We play the wrong game. While we march and have hashtags online, other groups are getting lobbyists and filing lawsuits. One game is effective and the other isn't.

Which is why I said they would have to pick a good case.

The racial equality argument became null and void after the various immigration acts. Our side needs a new argument and we've been trying to give it to them, despite much pushback, and from its potential beneficiaries, might I add.

What does a good case look like?

Do you honestly think 1960s crackers wanted to give it to us in the first place? No, they wanted our money, clean and unfettered by segregation and boycotts. Looking at our spending habits compared to others, I could easily make the argument that they still very much enjoy our dollars.

The major difference between then and now is US, from the rank and file all the way up the ladders of every civil rights org, the D9, and the church. Nikkas is p*ssy, I said what I said. This happened, not because white people changed, but because WE did. The wm gon have to tighten the screws a bit to wake most of us out of our slumber, unfortunately.

Right before I joined the coli, I was a member of a bw's board where we talked about this stuff. When I laid out the steps to genocide and explained that we were well along that path, I was pooh-poohed. I bet those same conversations happened here. I bet many posters in this very thread downplayed the threat when it was still avoidable, bc nikkas got comfortable. Welp. Playtime is over.

You have to actively defend your freedoms or they will be taken away. :francis:

Florida Educators Urge Appeals Court to Block Florida’s Stop W.O.K.E. Act | American Civil Liberties Union
https://www.politico.com/news/2024/06/14/desantis-stop-woke-lawsuit-00163536?utm

This law has been fought on several fronts by different organizations, including the college free speech group Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, or FIRE, American Civil Liberties Union, and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, all of which are representing the group challenging how it applies to state colleges and universities.

Public pressure and advocacy:

NAACP Issues Travel Advisory in Florida

No. The decisions on what to challenge in court are made through a collaborative process within the LDF and its President and Director-Counsel, Janai S. Nelson.

It's a breh paying himself almost a million dollars a year and a bunch of other breh/ettes paying themselves around 350k a year to solve issues like this and the best some of y'all can come up with is "both siders"

We're cooked :dead:

🎶 Dear God, please keep these lame dumb nikkas away from me 🎶

Jay Z's Team Roc, the social justice arm of his Roc Nation entertainment company, filed a lawsuit Tuesday claiming Kansas City, Kansas, has violated public records laws by failing to "timely produce" law enforcement records related to decadeslong allegations of police abuse and misconduct.

Instead of attacking our allies, Be one of our allies and attack our enemies yourself.

Do what you claim the NAACP should be doing yourself. This strategy of letting our enemies do everything unchecked and only checking people we feel should be checking them is nonsense.

NAACP didn't overturn any DEI initiatives. Use the energy you have going at the NAACP and go at the people overturning it directly
