Truth be told..... I don't think the so called "wave" will ever end.... Maybe it may slow down for other like F4 and possibly Xmen.... But I think DC and Marvel are in this for the long run.

I mean haven't people been noticing what Marvel is doing already? Yall sit here and claim Marvel has some type of "formula" where instead they are not crossing genres.

For so many year, a "comic book movie" was just a comic book movie.

But Marvel is making "heist films" that happen to have comic book character branched in a big universe, or space movies with comic book characters, or political thrillers that happen to have comic characters and so on and so on.

We are pretty much on the beginning wave of something evolving.

Sidenote every year another horror drops another sappy love story, countless number of Pixar like films and none of them get fatigued.

As long as the movies are good, no one will care.... Ala Fast And Furious

There won't be a reboot most likely recasting, new characters taking avengers roster spots or passing of the torch (bucky becoming cap, etc) Spider-man taking the lead role of the MCU to replace Iron Man in a way. That's all I can guess now it all depends how Phase 3 turns out. Oh and X-men is never going back to Disney/Marvel they're too successful tbh I'm glad their movies are in a great place now and it allows marvel to use unknown characters. But FF on the other hand if it flops and isn't received well :sas1:

well first off there's spiderman, which could end up being a saga in and of itself. not only that but that opens up a huge pocket of the marvel universe that has yet to be explored in the movies. so much room for crossovers and new characters. they are also bringing up doctor strange, black panther, captain marvel and the inhumans from the bullpen. for all we know those go onto become huge properties as well.

i would not be surprised if they try and build towards an arc based on secret wars.

what if x-men the return of ivan ooze is a huge bomb? what if FANTASTIC FOUR is a huge bomb? whose to say fox won't one day sign up for that marvel stimulus package?

you laugh but i bet this time 2 years ago you didn't think marvel would be making SPIDERMAN!!

anything can happen!

The next wave in comic book movies will be/should be dropping the 'name titles'. No more movies called "Doctor Fate", "Nova", "She-Hulk" based around a single character (and as much cameo's/appearances as the studio thinks are needed to sell it), instead we'll get event movies with 'story titles' in which existing characters and new characters can appear side by side with no distinction between 'whose' movie it is other than that some might get more screentime than others.

Think movies called "Triumph & Torment", "The Power Of Ion", "Up Is Down And Black Is White", "Dangerous Habits", etc.

plans mapped out until 2028, after Infinity Wars I think they will get heavy into the cosmic world. they could really flesh that out like Star Wars

re-booting the entire universe would be exhausting so they just have to keep pushing forward with it
Yeah is 'Annihilation' on the table?

I've had this dream that at the conclusion for Infinity War part 2, the post credits scene shows the heroes recuperating from the battle, and all of a sudden they look up and see a huge tear in the sky with a booming voice that says

"I AM FROM BEYOND. SLAY YOUR ENEMIES AND ALL YOU DESIRE SHALL BE YOURS"

RDJ can play Iron Man as long he wants. All he needs to do is tell jokes and talk to Jarvis. He doesn't have to do any physical work.
exactly. that fool could literally be 70, and i would still rather hear his voice coming out of that iron man suit, cracking jokes and being RDJ. its going to be hard as hell to replace him. too much personality.

but like some have said. why would you think there has to be an end game, when comic books are still going strong in 2015. the beauty of using comic books to tell these stories is that you can go on as long as the $$$ is rolling in. some say the super hero genre will collapse?
How so? unless they put out bad actors or bad story lines or both. if they keep solid actors and produce decent to good story lines. the actual on screen effects will only get better with time and tech. The only thing that could stop that genre is if we get into 2035 and regular people are flying around and shooting fire from their eyes like its nothing due to some tech we have figured out. so regular people are not super heros. if thats not the case. then Supes are here to stay.

they're gonna make disgusting bank off these 3 phases, then go ham and buy back all of their properties from other studios... then by that point the fatigue will be crazy and the purchaces won't be profittable.

... but what the fukk do i know?
